when i press the brake why does the linkage push my carb slide in? I'm on my second 5252 traxxas carb and i just got it tuned right but its still creeping unless i push the brake slightly in to close the carb..

Can you post a pic? Either the linkage needs reset or the springs need adjusting.

the scrub screw by the brake gel was stripped from factory I can also unscrew the other end

If your shutting the carb by the brakes then your idle gap isn't set correctly. With the slide all the way in you should have a gap of about a credit card and not be able to close it anymore.

That’s the problem the linkage for the brake is closing my carb slide

This is what your looking for and the screw you use to adjust it. Close the carb fully then screw in until the gap is as such..

The low speed needle on the slide itself should be flush with the arm. If your idle is high and the idle gap is good then richen (counter clockwise) the low soeed needle a tiny bit.

Your brakes shouldn't effect the carb at all when you hit em.

Pictures of the carb
In one photo the brake is pressed pushing the slide in
In another it’s at neutral after pressuring throttle so it creeps
When I slightly brake it sets the carb perfect no creep good idle

Idle gap looks good from the pic. Id move the spring collar up a bit (yellow circle) and if the other collar (red) is touching the servo collar at neutral move it back a until theres a just a hair of a gap.

At neutral that spring should be slightly pushing the slide to a seated position

Ideally the spring built into the carb should handle this, but at the end of the day its a traxxas carb

"Spring in carb"?
What spring are you talking about?

You shouldnt have to hit the brakes to set it perfect. Tension the spring on the linkage to push the carb closed while the servo is at neutral. It shouldnt push the carb hard, just enough. If it pushes hard it'll be hard on the servo.

There's a small spring that sits on the slide under the boot that assists in seating it. TRA5242

Also another thing often over looked is if the boot is dried out/hard that spring won't pull the slide back in all the way.

I mis-read what was wrote earlier and confused myself as to what yall were referring to as being the problem. What i said still stands though as far as adjusting the carb/linkage.

At neutral on the servo the carb should already be closed as much as its going to be and hitting the brakes shouldnt shut the carb anymore.

Set the idea gap with the carb fully closed. Set the spring tension on the linkage to lightly apply pressure to the carb slide when the servo is at rest/ neutral.

I got the Japan os 11k carb slapped it in
PERFECT IDLE I placed the throttle linkage back to factory making the spring tight to hold the throttle boot in

It came with the perfect idle gap but the low speed and high are overly rich
When I throttle fully it’s very slow speed no increase in rpm

Look in your other post for how to tune it.

Hsn first. Then low speed. Leave the idle screw alone. And leave the middle needle alone. If you’ve fooled with it, set it to a half a turn in from flush.

update - i did a half lean turn on highspeed only and now its blipping perfectly BUT it starts to jerk when i try to idle am i still too rich? with normal pulls no jerking
