i asked an airport screener about this and his answer was DO NOT DO IT. even a tank that has been empty for months still contains traces of nitro and methane. both of those are a hugh no-no on or near airplanes.even if you take it in carry on. they will use that machine that detects explosive material and your screwed. they will flat out confiscate it and you will be with out and have no say so what so ever. i know its a "toy car" and so do you, but does that dumb a$$ getting paid to be a prick care if its one. i played pro paintball in europe and flying with our paintball kit was hell. they would give us crap and try to find gun powder residue on the markers.

anyways sorry to go off with this but its cheaper to just mail them.

A toy gun and a toy truck are very much different. I'd just throw out the fuel tank and buy a new one.

It's unbelievable how things have changed. When I was a kid, this was a free country.
There seem to be conflicting versions on what was allowed, and what wasn't, so it still depends on how bad of a day your security guard had.

I know it can feel like a big hassle, but I'm kinda glad they take the extra security measures... With all the terrorist crap goin on....
On my flight to the Florida bash, they actually swabbed the inside of mr RC box. It passed, because I took the extra time to make sure everything was clean as a whistle. Like others have mentioned, I removed my fuel tank/lines & engine, & shipped via mail to it's destination. I thoroughly cleaned my rides, removed all batteries & was very upfront with the security agent. I do believe I was lucky, & got a decent agent, so I would just suggest trying to ship your items whenever possible. You should still take all the steps above to clean your rides though. My :2cents:

I flew from Lax to oakland with my ntc3 as a carrie on . I told them what was in the bag , and they made me take it out. They were more curious as to how fast it goes and to how much it cost! But I'll tell you this they took my brand new bottle os O'donnel 30% Fuel and made me throw my batteries in the trash! One of the guards said he had a t-maxx and I bet he ended up with my fuel! I suggest that you clean it up as good as possible and let them know that you have it as soon as you get to the screening part! As for your fuel choke it up as a lost or have one good time bashing before you go ! good luck!
