Hi all
I'm completely new to anything r/c and I've recently brought myself a kyosho neo 3.0
My question is can i change my transmitter to a stick one rather that the trigger one it came with. If yes what would i need to do this
Thanks in advance

Yes you can. The first thing to check is to see if there is a transmitter that will interface with the existing receiver, saves money not having to buy an additional receiver. If not, then you will have to buy a transmitter and receiver. To keep it simple, I recommend buying a two channel system for this application.

Two-channel stick radios are very hard to find, so I'd recommend a 4 or 5 channel version. Here's a relatively inexpensive set up: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbyking-2-4ghz-mode-2-4ch-tx-rx-v2.html

Hamz9561 is correct, they are becoming increasingly rare. However, the reason for the two channel suggestion is that aircraft transmitter gimbals (the "rolling" mechanism attached to the base of the stick) move left and right, and up and down. Also, whichever mode (1 or 2), the throttle will not have a self-return-center stick. This allows for sub-conscience "finger drift", which can increase the learning curve for efficient operation. Fortunately, there a few options.
1. Purchase a aircraft transmitter and install, or have someone install a throttle return spring, or, there is always YouTube? (a lot of times this is not straight off the shelf mod), or, adjust to the radio.
2. Purchase a 4 channel ground radio. Futaba makes the 4GRS, the throttle self centers, but the radio is over $300.00, so...
3. If it's a non issue, there are plenty of inexpensive used radios out there that will fill the bill and are in great shape.

Hope this helps.
