I am rebuilding a savage xl and am wondering what gear ratio would be a good upgrade for it. I am new to the rc world but i am trying to learn the in and outs about it.
:D

They have a good all around stock set up, and beyond that it would depend on what you are looking to do with it and what type of surface you want to run on.

I'm looking more for power and control without any troubles.

Keep it stock if not u start to stress other parts of the truck with all the heavy payload of torque at least with lower gearing and to big of gear and the motor can't work like its supposed to and will run hot .. The xl comes with a three speed trani ,, keep that .. Do some research on how to tune the three speed and with a few slight turn of it and you'll be ready for the track or bashing ... First things first get the motor tuned then play wit the transmition .. And if you really want to hurt the guys next to you pair it with different motor .. Good luck

Do you ..
