My trans makes a clattering noise when I push it by hand. It also does it when I hit the breaks. I took it apart and the gears looked good. No broken teeth. Anyone ever have a problem like this with their Savage?

Can you describe the sound a little better? Does it only make this sound going backwards or both?

Could it be your front diff? Or rear diff?

Its kind of hard to describe, but its like a clicking and clattering noise. It does it when I push it forward and backward. It sounds like the tranny but the gears looked good in there.

Like El Pirata said, check your diffs. If you didnt find anything out of the ordinary in the tranny, more likely it is your diffs.

I opened up the front differential and the pinion gear had 3 chipped teeth. Is there a better gear on the market or should I just buy a stock one?

Not sure of aftermarket gears for the diff but you still should check your rear diff too because those have been having problems too lately.
