So, i placed a order on the 31th, i was told it should be here by this week. I found out today, they sold me a truck that was out of stuck. Then they lost my whole package, and no one called or nothing. So i said i am done as i called yesterday and they had a weather delay which i understand. I said if this does not come by Fri i will send it back.

The guy goes i will take care of this, he set up 2 day for me and has his boss on the phone with the other shipping site. I guess they messed up and now fixed it. I wish i would of got a call or a email. I did not get rude/nasty and i was treated right. I would not say i had a big order but a tad over 300.00 is a nice enough order to get them to move there butt's and get my truck. Just my little rant but to be honest i am not mad. I never had a issue with them so this was kinda odd to accept at first.

Tower usually makes it right for the customer if there is an issue.
They once sent me eight - 28T pinion gears when I had ordered 26T pinions. They told me to keep the 28T pinions and sent the 26T 2nd day air.

Screw-ups happen; so long as the seller makes it right, that's all you can ask.

I know it's frustrating. Even those of us who are otherwise patient people tend to be very I'mpatient when it comes to RC stuff-especially if the projected delivery date is missed.

What's really aggravating is some of these chinese companies on eBay, when they tell you it's shipped but provide no tracking info. All you can do is wait until the outside delivery date estimate to file an item not received claim, usually some 40-50 days after ordering. I've been waiting on a couple of ESCs I ordered Nov. 29th; I really don't think they're coming at this point, but I can't file a claim until the 15th of this month.

I really try not to buy from Chinese sellers on ebay anymore only out of shear desperation I will.
at the end of oct I bought a li-fe receiver battery from a seller had zero communication from them until mid dec saying 'I sorry battery no stock thanks' luckily I got my money back but holy moly its a pain when you are waiting for something so stupid and it takes forever.

Many of them are OK. Honestly, I've had a lot more issues with the chinese sellers that have US based operations. eBay hammers the china based companies pretty hard when they screw up, but the ones based here seem to get away with much more. The ones that are based out of china have always been quick to replace or refund a missing or defective item, whereas the ones with US warehouses have consistently given me the run-around.

Sometimes you just can't beat the deals if you're not in a hurry. I just scored a Hobbywing Xerun 13.5 sensored 540 for $40 shipped. They're at least $70 from US based sellers.

Depending on how bad I need it, how quick I need it, and how much I'm willing to spend, that's what I decide. I buy quite a bit from China she zen and that other place overseas, I've had one item take 3 months, usually all others are delivered 10 days tops. Usually in a week though. sometimes you just can't beat the deals.:D

Damn, that sucks. I do not know what to say just file a claim when you can. I wish you the best with your Ebay issue. I spend a tad more and buy from people from the US. I just got a on off switch for my receiver pack and i got after run oil as well from another seller. I got a rpm rear skid plate from another seller. There on the way i just wait. I am kinda done i will go to the local guy. I know i will pay 30 percent more then what ebay/tower might have them for.

When I ordered my t-maxx they sent me a stampede, called them and they resolved it though

I understand this happens, i am not the only one. I was just a tad upset/mad that they sold me a back order item and then lost my package . I go no call or email and when i called the other day no one said anything about it being on back order.I am happy your issue worked out, they fix it based on how much we spend and they want THAT MONEY AGAIN . lol

Thanks everyone for telling me your stories. it has helped me to be honest i do feel bad for some of the guys based on what they talked about in this thread. As we all know this hobby can be A LOT OF MONEY! So when a company messes up on a 300 order or a 3000 order they will fix it. I would hope they would do this for a 30.00 order . With that being said my items shipped, they had to send it from 2 places as one wear house has my truck and the original location that was going to ship has the spear parts. Kinda odd but as long as both show up same day i am happy. I just checked and they both shipped yesterday and should be here tomorrow . That is about it , once again thank you guy's for understand and not giving me a hard time over this.

Ordered a case from Maxy's fuel on the second, still hasn't shipped. An email sent to him was answered with a poorly written sentence that my order will ship tomorrow. Meanwhile an order placed on the 30th with Rc planet has still yet to arrive, because they ship via DHL when you pay the 3 dollar shipping. The item would have fit in a 5 dollar flat rate box and been here in two days, but my only other option was 10 bucks for a 15 dollar item. Kind of peeved with crappy service in two regards. I've ordered from HobbyKing in China and received my stuff almost consistently in a week or less. One highly reputable fuel guy hasn't even shipped yet and another is using a cut rate service to save a buck at the expense of a customer. Won't be using either again. Sounds like I need to go spend some cash at Tower though.

imo fuel is best bought threw the local guys. I do want to say i have heard people paying 60.00 per gallon. I just got back in the hobby last gallon i got was like 3 years ago maybe a tad longer i got a gallon for 32.00 i just picked up a gallon 2 weeks ago i paid 35.00. 35.00 Per gallon is way better then buying smaller amounts, i think tower charges 10.00 for shipping so your best to buy a gallon. I think they have some redcat fuel and there own blend for like 7.20-8.00 range per quart.

$32 for a gallon of Sidewinder 20% so I have no place to complain there. He's a stand up guy, always showing me a project he picked up and wants to sell to me for cheap, so I'll keep buying my fuel locally and support his store. Walked in trying to buy some pull start string and he gave me a traxxas pull start to gut for the string for free. Then he tried to sell me an 8th scale redcat buggy and a transmitter + a bunch of parts for 75 bucks x)

The free stuff is cool, i am not sure about some one all ways wanting to sell me something. I guess here an there, i just picked up a used maxx and boy its been kinda a night mare. A 2.5 with a 3.3 motor upgrade. Stock trans but the owner before me did a reverse delete. No brake or slipper upgrade. With that much added power they did add a wheelie bar but no stock steering servo up grade. So i am kinda unsure about buying other people's projects nowadays. One man's headache can turn in to another's with one bad/stupid move. Those redcats get over looked, i looked in to the 1/10th scale buggy that sells for 150.00. It has a half decent electronic set up . the motor is known to be a pain for a new user as these rtr is meant to lour in a would be first time buyer. Like i said i looked in to it, it has a single speed and most people have done well with it. No like well known issues with like there next up rtr buggy that has some more metal parts (crap) and a 2 speed that most people lock anyways. Its known to give many people issues. I would look in to that buggy, part support is the key for a company like redcat. Online there is lots of place to buy but local it is hit or miss. My local guy sells everything, he trys to not let someone walk out based on price. If you need a cheap battery and you have 5.00 in your pocket it will sell you a used but working one. If you need a new battery he has. A whole section of used parts from a basic single shock to a motor. He sells used rtr that i just got but i found out he does not real test of the motor. They get them started do a tad tune and away they go. No cleaning no new batteries nothing. I think i been at this to long to get burnt now, but my new rtr got lost and i got kinda jittery for say and wanted something now and sure enough there was a few in my price range and i jumped on the maxx with the upgraded motor. It does have rpm front arms upper and lower and rpm middle section and rear section skid guard If that is worth a damn ..

I think trying to sell me stuff is a poor choice of words on my part haha. He shows me something that might peek my interest, lets me look it over, then tells me it won't get finished by him because he doesn't have the time or interest in fixing x&y so it's this price. He has a cool 8th scale nitro rally car with a subaru body he wants 100 bucks for too, used of course, but I have no real use for it. They aren't really meant for jumping at a track as far as I know.

*Edit
I stand corrected.
Looks like these electric 10th scales do just fine on a track similar to the one I go to. Now I want it again >.<

Some nice used prices he has , i can say where i live its a lot of money to get in to this hobby. Its not very big, there is a few guys and to be honest there a few that are on here. I have yet to meet anyone my self as i just got back in to the hobby. Imo buy new if you can, i think the not knowing what was done by the user before you is the scary part. I got my truck/parts today, so darn small the sc10gt is. It has a big body on it that at least 2 x the size of the truck. I will let it sit in my music room tell the spring and work on this t maxx i picked up. I got some free parts today to fix it, local guy wanted me to pay for parts for a pos used truck he sold me. I had to tell him in a nice way i am not paying anymore money out of pocket on a truck that i paid 100.00 to much . My fault but i missed some key signs i got a older max not a newer 2.5 or even 2.5r.

I got my buggy new, and I definitely agree with you on previous owners junk. But with no glow plug the motor spun over very smooth. I'd toss a plug in and see how much compression it has and that would be the deal breaker or maker. Might take a second look at it and consider it. But we've gone off topic haha. Maxy happily canceled my order, and RC Planet replied with a apologies, saying it was ridiculous that they can ship packages coast to coast with DHL and the package almost always gets there in under a week, but DHL couldn't get a package two states away in 10 days. Said if it isn't here Monday they'll send another. Glad they came through. I will, however never order from Maxy again.
