I’ve been looking for a Jammin’ CRT.5 1/12 Truggy for a lonnnnnnnng time, and swore I’d give my left nut for one if I had to.. The one I had 20yrs ago was THE most fun I’ve ever had with ANY surface RC, period… They’re just so cool…
Super well engineered, extremely durable, drive a LOT like a 1/8 race trugg, and are just a BALL.. I ran a nitro before, but would take a brushless today if I had to..
OFNA/Jammin’ made soooooo many, that you can still get just about anything you want for them BNIB on eGay, misc. forum classifieds, Marketplace, and even some Hobby Shops..
Well I actually found one… Also it’s at my “most desired” price for one in GOOD condition, that had been well maintained, and very little wear.. As luck would have it, it’s legit less than 45min West of my driveway.. -and it’s BRAND NEW IN THE BOX…
Also the guy is tossing in a new brushless motor, ESC, Servo, and receiver.. Faaaaaackmeee…
They’ve began to demand quite a pretty penny these days, so I began to look around for a similar “back up plan” a couple months back, just in case… Looked at the Hobao Hyper 1/12 Mini ST nitro, and electric, but there are a list of things I don’t love about them, AND they’re in about the same category as the CRT.5-being they haven’t been made in years either, and they don’t have even 50% the parts support.. Boooooo..
Then checked out the Team Associated Reflex 14B… Meh… Pitiful motor mount setup, no steel spur option, plastic tub chassis, etc.. I’m not paying top dollar just for the name on the side… No thanks, Thunder Tiger-not today..
I do believe that as much as it pains me-I’m going to pass on this mini-unicorn, and grab an LC Racing 1/14 brushless Pro Kit mini-truggy…
They’re still being made, parts support is tremendous, parts are inexpensive AF, and it won’t be a royal PITA to source a second one for Mrs. Littlemotor.. The Jammin’ CRT.5 sure would be cool to have, and check all the nostalgic boxes as well-but I really believe it’s the smarter move for a mini-truggy in this particular case.. Still doesn’t feel amazing, but I swear I know it’s the right move. Adulting (barely
), sucks…
