I saw the an ad for it a couple weeks ago. Rutledge will be entertaining for sure. I like Tanner but I feel like he may be too serious of a personality for this show. I don't know who the third guy is. I'm a HUGE fan of BBC's Top Gear and honestly have a hard time believing that the states version will be anywhere near as entertaining. The Brits are just awesome entertainment. I dont' know, we'll see.

I love Top Gear, simply love the banter between the three hosts.

My favorite part has to be the V8 blender. :hehe:

I don't think it will be as funny as the UK version. Those guys are great. But we will have to see and hope.

I like the big old dude on the British version, but don't much care for the other two. That humor is lost on me, so I don't see much of it as funny, but they do a decent job showing the cars. Guessing the US version will be a bit more flashy in general.

I have my wife setting up the DVR for it as I type. :)

Jeremy Clarkson is "the big old dude"... LOL

Big fan of the BBC series myself, and since I'm an old Benny Hill and Monty Python fan I get most of the slang/humor too...

But here's the deal. American TV and their sponsors won't put up with the same stuff that BBC gets away with. The first time one of the US hosts calls BMW owners D-bags or something their going to lose advertisers (revenue) and for those that have never seen the BBC show the American viewers will just feel offended. Plus I simply do not see the chemistry between these guys in the sample clips I've seen like Clarkson, Mays, and Hammond. You have to remember, Top Gear as you know it now is different than the original Top Gear, which was a true serious car review show. It's actually been on BBC since 1977 and Clarkson has been the main host for 20 years! I give the US version about seven episodes or so max.

I agree with Mustang on just about all points. I really do not see how Tanner Foust fits into this lineup. For instance.. ever watch battle of the supercars? They put Tanner up against Paul Tracy (and for whatever reason Tanner always gets the less superior car) and have a showdown between two performance cars. Tanner just does not have entertainment value akin to what fans of the BBC version of Top Gear are used to. Like I said, I don't know who the 3rd fella is from the clips but the only person of the three I think will create one-liner entertainment is Rutledge.

Then again maybe we're all missing the point... Maybe they simply aren't looking to convert the BBC fans.?.?

I'll probably watch the first show - but I'm prepared for a let down. Even my wife likes the original on BBC.

EDIT: I did some searching, Adam Ferrara(a comedian) is the third host with Tanner Foust and Rutledge Wood

I'm watching it. So far, I think its kind of got a scripted feeling but they're doing some pretty cool things.

IT wasn't too bad and it looks like they're going to be doing some interesting things.

I'll give it a few episodes, but so far, the hosts have zero chemistry.

And, the helicopter vs. car thing has already been done.

Years ago.

By the real Top Gear.

I've never seen the bbc version of top gear, but i watched the first episode last night and i thought it was ok. they did say that there was gonna be 10 episodes. i agree that it did appear to be a little scripted, but i did enjoy the lambo speed runs. it will take a few more episodes for me to give a honest opinon of it.

For those that missed it, it looks like they're running it again tonight at 8 pm CST.
