hi everyone i baught the battery pack olds told me about for my radio shack hummer. anyway today i finally got to try it out. first i put the one i had and got the usual run time and then put the new one in. since the new one had a high mah i ran it alot harder then usual. while running it the car started smoke. i looked at everything and everything looked ok. i was just wondering what might have happened?

may have over heated the wires or the esc, (does a rat shack ride have a esc?) I've seen a car witha 10t single make the esc catch on fire.

That is hilarious. I wish I knew more about electrics. I would be burning up cheap RCs all the time. hahaha

I used to have a Lobo 3 (sears), a Tyco Bandit, some Radio Shack jobs ( I used to work there.. and my cousin still does ), and I am sure that I had some others.. I used to have this trans am car. I am not sure who made it. And someone gave me a tyco lambo.. I think I burnt that one up too.

The problem that I had with the Bandit (my favorite toy store throw away of all time) was I stripped the high speed gear. I used to run it down the street then hit the brake and throw it into reverse to spin it out. I would also run it in reverse and slam it in forward to get it to walk a wheelie.

The bandit was awesome. I have tried recently to find one on ebay, but I couldn't.

It just goes to show you that you don't need to spend major cash to have fun in this hobby.
If your having fun, then it works for you. Thats all that matters.

If it wasn't for toys "R" us, I might not have come back to the hobby.

What was your favorite oldie "toy RC" ??

Do you remember the typhoon?? I always wanted one of those. hahaha

I had one of those bandits until I jumped it into a hole that was 3 feet deep. The hole was filled with water and I didn't know how deep it was until I had to fish it out. I wish I still had one.

the truck still works susprizingly. this truck just has one of the chip boards. but i like to call it an esc. i had a bandit theat a friend gave that thing was fun.

haha i would like to see that.

Thank goodness for the cheapie Rat Shack,Tyco and Nikko RC's.This is what made me and manyothers consider and later fall in a real RC craze.

My First fun toy RC was the Tyco Turbo Hopper, the first version with the "spare" wheel. I even modded the sucker, ended up burning the fets on the ESC/receiver board. It was cheap and fun.No propo steering, but TURBO was there :whip: The only thing that remains is the remote!

Now install some Deans,GP3700 battery pack, and hot motors. GO

Danny,

I'm pretty sure you should give the motor and electronics time to cool in between battery packs. Especially now that you have a battery pack that can run the truck pretty hard. I know it's hard to sit there and wait... but you will fry your motor if you aren't careful.

I used to have a Tyco Heads up and a Tyco world of outlwas car and I ran them into the ground but it was a blast. I have been watching ebay for the W.O.O. car just because I want to get one again for giggles and just some putzing around with it again.

when i was younger i had the tyco tantrum. that thing can take a beating. if they remake it i would get another one.

what I've had for a coupld years now and what kind of got me started in the hobby (bought at a lhs) was a rc tank. It can shoot airsoft bb's, its has real tracks, nice suspension... I used to take it out on the lawn and shoot my bro when he was mowing it. LMAO. Its winter now tho...
