What do I need to put my losi mach 427 on to my Tmaxx? Everything lines up but the crankshaft is too long, it hits the tranny. Suggestions? I have heard of cutting the crankshaft off. Does is this work and how does the clutch belll and all fit on. Thanks

I'm not real sure where I stand right now. My truck is as I bought it, used. It has a complete carbon fiber chassis and a sirio.18 engine. Is this the same as stock?

The Mach 427 has a Big Block Crank case. You would need a BB conversion as mentioned. I suggest a Drop in type engine like the picc0 26 Tmaxx drop in...

sounds good but I aquired this new mach 427 in a trade and would like to put it to use!

Either get the conversion or get a truck that it will drop right in to like a Savage,MGT Or an LST.

 the Picco is a beast. Even if the 427 IS more powerful all you'll ever have is wheelies. IMO having arseloads of power is no good if you can't keep it on the ground.

+1 on that. Can't do much else if you can't control it. YOu can have the biggest dog on the block but if he doesn't listen to you..why have him?

There are better big block conversions than that New Era kit. What clutch and CB are you going to use? I happend to like having an extended chassis on my Maxx but I've noticed that the extended chassis seems to be much more prone to flex and bending than the stock length chassis. Many of the aftermarket extended chassis' do not have the raised edges which aid against chassis flex, adding length to the chassis only worsens the effect. There are other kits available such as Fastlane Machine that also come with extended 3 or 4 point chassis rails. It is my opinion that a setup like that will significantly help defy bending of the chassis. I'm currently waiting for Stormerhobbies to get the latest FLM chassis in stock for my Maxx. What clutch and CB are you going to use? If you are going to use a 1/8 clutch and 1/8 CB you will need a new Spur gear as well because the stock spur gear teeth won't match up with a 1/8 CB correctly. RC Solutions offers a spur gear that will allow the use of 1/8 CB's in a T-Maxx.

Personally, I'd save your money and leave the maxx as a SB truck. By the time you buy all the "beefing up" parts to handle the power, you will be $250-300 into it. And you will still be left with 1/10 diffs, trans and axles. Which all can be upgraded of course, but then your money into it goes up considerably. $100 for RRP gears in the trans, $120 for Maximizer diff cups w/RRP diff gears, MIP axles (or something similar).

By the time you have a functional truck that is relatively durable, you could have easily bought a savage, aftershock, LST, MGT roller to put that engine into and you would be starting with a platform that is much better suited for big block power out of the gate.

I've had a BB maxx. IMO, it's gone the way of the dodo. There are too many other options out there that are better from the start rather than to try to force your t-maxx to be 1/8 scale.

Just my .02

Olds is right. If I would have known what I know now (famous words) I probably would not have dumped so much money into my Maxx. But it is what it is and I still enjoy my truck.

I was getting ready to do a big block conversion on my T-Maxx. In fact, I had the engine, some parts, stuff like that in a shopping cart getting ready to hit the buy button and then I started thinking. Why sink 600 or 800 bucks into a maxx and still have a 10th scale maxx, when I could just get a Savage that would handle anything I could throw at it, already had a big block, and I could drop in most of the big block engines on the market. So I emptied the cart, put a Savage X SS in the cart, and never looked back. I still have a 2.5 T-Maxx that runs great and I run it a lot, and I have the Savage X SS as well for the big block power. However Since I broke in the Savage, I have only run two tanks of fuel through it because now that I've got the baja, it just doesn't make since piddling with the small trucks.
