Happy 4th of July all! Just wanted to share my build photos for my TLR 22X DC. The kit went together flawlessly, as all my Losi/TLR kits over the years have. My photos document the contents of each bag then the final product of that bag, was in full OCD mode.

Bag A - Ball Differential: The Diff Gear itself has one more tooth I believe, otherwise identical to all other 22 ball diffs.

Bag B - Turnbuckles: Larger cups for the 22X, for more articulation. Otherwise, no surprises here.

Bag C - Shocks: Finally 13mm shocks for TLR! Love them (not a big fan of the shock oil tubes though)!

Hit the photo limit, to be continued..

Bag E - Front End - Part 2: Front hubs and add front shocks and turnbuckles. Completion of the front end.

Bag F - Transmission Assembly: Love the quick access diff (5 screws) and that the D Block is attached to the tranny.. Spur gear and slipper pads are same as 22 5.0 Elite.

Bag G - Rear Arms/Hubs: Completes the rear end of the car. VHA hubs are rare carryover from 22 5.0 Elite car.

Bag H - Finishing Touches: Servo/battery/electronics (AL servo mount from 22 5.0 will fit!)

Working on the body (precut, thank you TLR!) and electronics now, I will try to get pictures added soon.

Let us know how this build goes since i'm thinking about getting my own 22X someday or a 22X-4 Elite someday. Me and my Family are going to be moving to Tucson in the next couple of years. I looked at what tracks are there and somewhere around Phoenix there is two 1\10 - 1\8 dirt off road tracks it might end up being a day trip but if we convert our carpet cars to dirt spec it might be fun to race at one of them.

Fresh Bodies are painted for my fleet (22X DC, 22 5.0 Elite, and B74.2D.

Scuff inside with green scotchbrite, wash with warm dawn and water, dry well.
Liquid Mask and 3mm Tamiyia tape for masking.

Finished Liquid mask, about 4-5 light coats with a brush (the more coats, the easier it is to peel off)
1000033816.webp

PS-16 Metallic Blue first (2-4 light coats on all colors
1000033828.webp

Backed with PS-41 Bright Silver
1000033832.webp

Pulled up liquid mask
1000033835.webp

PS-28 Flourescent Green, backed with PS-1 White
1000033838.webp

Removed window masks, cut ~2mm off the border and reapplied.
1000033845.webp

PS-27 Flourescent Yellow, backed with PS-1 White (pops with yellow wheels)

1000033849.webp

PS-41 Bright Silver for pinstriping
1000033850.webp

All Backed with PS-5 Black
1000033851.webp

Window masks and outer plastic removed, ready for stickers and velcro

I'm going to be racing 21.5 with this car and bumping my current TLR 22 5.0 Elite to 17.5 (i have 4-5 cars worth of spare parts).

My standard electronics for stock racing are:
  • Futaba R304SB-E Receiver (4PM Transmitter)
  • Hobbywing XR10 Stock Spec G2 ESC
  • Hobbywing Justock G2.1 21,5T Motor (Local Track Requirement)
  • Protek 160T Servo
  • MyLaps 3-wire Transponder

Cool, I can't wait to see it when you get around to building it. I've been thinking about getting a TLR 22X, 22X-4 Elite or maybe this new 22X-T as i used to have a 22T 4.0 that built as my first ever race kit but it didn't work out the way i wanted it to so i ended up trading it for a 10 year old Spektrum DX3C. I currently run a Team Associated B74.1 carpet although i might convert it to dirt\clay spec or just buy a new buggy after we move to Arizona next year.

I have started my 22X-T build thread, you can see my progress so far at https://www.rctalk.com/forum/threads/c187666s-tlr-22x-t-stadium-truck-build-thread.146849/
