Janet Jackson's Super Bowl flash dance was shocking in more ways than one: Some TiVo users say the event brought home the realization that their beloved digital video recorders are watching them, too.

On Monday, TiVo said the exposure of Jackson's breast during her halftime performance was the most-watched moment to date on its device, which, when combined with the TiVo subscription service, lets viewers pause and "rewind" live television broadcasts, among other features.

TiVo said users had watched the skin-baring incident nearly three times more than any other moment during the Super Bowl broadcast, sparking headlines that dramatically publicized the power of the company's longstanding data-gathering practices.

Crimony, it was only a nipple.

That you can't even see LOL I just thought it was funny that Tivo is watching everything its users are doing. Like watching Janet's nip slip more then anything that happened the whole bowl LOL

Well I think this is how things are done these day's. They are always watching somehow. I mean all of the big cable company's have to have some sort of recording device in their boxes. IMHO if they can change the service avaibalbe and add and take away channels they have to be able to do it.

Another TMI event from C-Land.

Tivo has had problems in the past with keeping up with viewer habbits and aparent "preferences". Seems as though the service builds a profile on your personal viewing habbits and suggests programs based on those habbits. Looks good on paper, but has some interesting quirks.

Just seems like another way "Big Brother" is watching and noting our every moves.
Seriously, why do you think every grocery store has a VIP, VIC, MVP, etc etc card?

I think I just caught the tail end of a black helicopter flying by....
