Tired of high cost receivers....

I have to say, for $35... I'd gamble it if I didn't already have spektrum. Any idea of the model memory count? It just says model memory, but not how many.

All my rigs are race rigs....so you're right. I may be tempted to try it on a basher for $35.....but even then I'd be cautious as hell. $35 will barely buy the parts to build the radio...so where did they skimp to save $$$? Probably QA and testing. Not saying it's a bad radio at all....just saying it's questionable ;-)

when they have one in stock i'm going to order it. i'll let you guys know how it works out.

What will you be putting it in, broken civic? I'd love a new radio for my Scorpion, as the stocker is clearly lacking.

Yeah Dom I just skimmed though 20 pages or so and it looks really hit or miss. I think I will wait on the Atom module from Hitec or pull the trigger on a 4PL. I have seen them right at the $200 mark a couple places.

Anyone know if KO Propo has a new module? I getting my nephew a SC truck soon and have a Helios collecting dust.

i'll be using just the single transmitter and buying multiple receivers for all my rigs..

a evader ext converted to brushless, full ball bearings, steel idler, ext2 wheels/tires and about a 3000kv brushless motor if i can find one cheap

a e-maxx with a 1900 nue motor, 2 9.6volt 8 cell ni-mh batteries, a mamba max esc and rite now i am using a 4 double a battery box, but i am about to change it for a ubec or bec, whatever it's called.

a evader bx with hpi flux 5700kv motor/esc.

a converted brushless velineon stampede and a brushless vendetta.

i also have a brushless kyosho viper i'll be putting a receiver in. then selling all my cheap 75mhz and 27mhz stuff in a lot on ebay.

the kit is cheap enough i might buy a second transmitter later.

or if you are getting a new one, get this one, with lots of stuffs......

It has: Fhss
10 model memory
digital trim
end point adjustment
dual rate
3rd channel
plus many more features, but the good news is it's only $35.00! No joke, no special deal, no clearance, this is the full price!

You'll like the 4PL, I just bought it for my Baja SS. The range is wonderful!

I was going to get one then I ended up buying the warthog crawler from NC. The 4PL look like a great radio and at least the price of the receivers are the ballpark I want to be in. I am going to have to save back up for one. The one from Nitrorcx I just don't trust my rigs to.

I don't know much about that radio from experience, but after reading forums and customer reviews, they say it is awesome, and considered it a "buy them now, before they figure out they are getting ripped for 35$!" I also watched a couple video's on it, is supposed to be a great radio, with a good size band width, and a lot of built in features, i have plans on getting it, but my machine is not top grade as some of you guys...:p:

Well, I just picked up a Traxxas Link 2.4 system new off the bay for $40. It isn't as fancy as other systems, and there's no LCD display on it. But it has all the features that I need (EPA, throttle and steering expo, steering dual rate, braking percentage, sub trims, and 20 model memory) it's an actual brand name, uses half the batteries of my current system, and I can pick up extra receivers for $30 a piece. For me, it's all I should ever need, but again I don't need the LCD display or telemetry and extras nor do I want the battery drain associated with it. I'm just bashing around.

this will be a upgrade from my traxxas 27mhz stuff even if it's not great, and that's what i'm running in my vxl stampede and brushless e-maxx.

i rather be cheap and see if it works. i'm not a hardcore rc'er, my stuff only gets used a couple times out of the year. i'm sure if it works it will work fine for what i do.

Question for you guys. If I obtain a Traxxas 2.4 radio, will a NEW Traxxas receiver be compatible? I have not dealt with this 2.4 technology.

Yeah not going to get a ton on this dead horse thread...lol. But for what it is worth I have heard that not all Traxxas 2.4 are compatible with each other....I can't be for certain though. I have a Slash that is 2.4 but no others to try it on.
Here is the quote I was looking for.....
even if they are the same brand it might not work ...the first traxxas 2.4(grey tx) is not compatible with the newer 2.4 ones ( black tx)....which sucks ...I'm still stuck with 2 transmitters
