I am new to the nitro hobby and I got a team associated trs from hobby town for my almost stock T-maxx and the spring wont fit. So I ended up just making my own out of a small spring. Geez, talk about a waste of $3.00 So i just wanted to tell everyone not to get the team associated trs unless you are intending on making modifications to it because it dosent hook on easily.

Being new to the hobby, I would recommend you get more experience before you lay waste to a product. Just because you could not get it to work, does not mean it does not work. Did you think to ask for some help in rigging the TRS?

Just some advice for you...

I've also had problems fitting a TRS to my Maxx, I purchased a Traxxas one, and got stung by customs shipping to me here in the UK.

So if anyone has advice or pics showing a good way to mount this spring I would be very grateful.

I guess you are right sky but it dosent come with any mounting brackets of any kind and the spring hole dosent fit on any of the screws because it is so small.
In the attachment you can see the small loop on the end of the spring compared to the servo screw it has to go onto but it dosent fit (sorry about the blurry picture) so if anyone has the team associated trs and got it to fit please tell me how. Thanks

First question: Is the T-Maxx in question the 2.5 version with slide carb?

If the answer is yes, then we will proceed with the directions on how to install it. If the answer is no, then I'll need to know what kind of carb it is (engine is not so important) slide or rotary.

From there we'll get you all straightened out.

That's a very nice set-up which will protect the truck in most instances, but it will do very little good if the linkage between throttle arm on the carb and the servo is damaged. The real purpose of the TRS is to have it return the throttle itself to the closed position via the throttle arm on the carb.

Isn't there a way to wrap it around the carb itself and around the carb's arm? I have the OS 21 RG with a slide and I don't have a TRS at all. Could explain a few of my mishaps.

There are a number of ways to hook up a TRS with a slide carb. The one you described is a common one.

Is there a specific spring I can buy that would come close to working? It's hard to tell when you do most of your shopping on the internet. Can't really see how long or how big it is.

I use Losi springs for my TRS. They work just fine on my T-Maxx.

Yes its the one with the slide carb. I saw someone had just put the spring from a screw on the end of the sliding part of the carb but it wont work on a T-maxx with the ez start and because I dont know much about the ez start and I because I am lazy I want to leave the ez start on so that wont work.
