As some of you know, I pretty much got out of r/c cars. If anyone was wodnering where the money went to, well here ya go.

17" bronze colored 5zigen GN+'s with 215/45/17 size Bridgestone Potenza S-03's.

Review:

It's amazing what good tires will do. I would imagine that I could scare the poop out of a lot of people with the new tires. Only had 20 minutes of driving with them, and have already scared myself after barely getting the tires to squeal. Can't imagine what it'll be like when I get used to them.

I can carry a lot more speed through corners, as a result, braking is done a lot later. Understeer is kept to a more reasonable level. The tires enable me to power through the corners much more sooner than I ever thought. Even with the stock soft suspension, I can power through sooner without the weight transfer leading to understeer. As a matter of fact, I don't think I ever got to the point of understeering. I thought I did, but then I think it was my mind not being confident enough to corner harder.

Anyhoo, check out the pictures.

I used to run the S-03s when I had my '01 MR2. I loved those tires. Expensive as hell but excellent dry and wet traction. Great choice!

u sold your rc stuff and bought that ... dang .. u must have had tons of rc stuff or u are a dang good salesmen...lol

Actually, the r/c's only contributed about a 1/3 of the total cost, the rest I had saved up.

They probally also have stiffer sidewalls that makes a world of differance in handling.

Hmm I like the rims. For a minute I thought you said Volk GTN's...I was going to be like...Oh no you di..n't!!!! Nice addition to the Corolla.

hehe, imagine exploring the limits of this on sticky yokohama's

Thats a sweet ride, Have you ever timed it from 0-60 Corrado? I've read you have alot invested in it and was currious on how quick it is. And have you ever seen what it will top out at?

So, are those just a softer/stickier compound?

They have both a soft compund and a stiffer sidewall. Back when I was running the MR2, these were THE tire to get for a lightweight RWD vehicle. They were nearly on par with Falken Azenis for dry traction but didn't chunk up when they got too hot and treadwear was much better than the Falkens.

The treadwear rating is 220. From what I can tell, the sidewalls feel extremely strong. I'm running 35psi all around, and don't think i've rolled the tires at all. Hell, I haven't even cornered on the edge, I end up sliding around in my seat before I ever get a chance...lol

never officially timed it, though i wouldnt be surprised at 5 sec. I've had it up to 140+ while spanking a ws6 trans-am already. still not done tuning, and i havent sprayed it yet either.

4u2nv, no, they are multipiece BBS's with custom lips and matching powdercoated centers.

oh.. I thought they were spokes..lol... gonna say them might not be the lightest wheel for ya..lol

Well, the wheels are actually a bronze color, or for the color blind folks (like me), it's more of a dark gold.

Nope, that's just because the camera I have is really poop, plus the sun was going down when I took the pictures.

here's another picture I took, but before the wheels were installed
