I have never shot a 220 swift, but I have a Remington target rifle in .222 remington and I hit at jackrabbit at 275 yards once. I couldn't even see it with my bare eye.

Hmm, that's different. The old forum would put your new post in your previous post if it happened within a few minutes.

Some folks use the 50 bolt rifles to hunt ground hogs (not much to bury if you hit it).

The 222 rem is a sweatheart round, fast yet with marginal recoil. The swift and the 22-250 are nearly neck and neck, but the swift is still the fastest factory round. I reload nearly all of my rounds, and I crank up the swift to just under 4000 fps with a 52 gr V-Max. I could shoot that one all day long. The Winchester factory heavy 30-06 is another story all together (a real sholder killer).

I'm not a big gun expert, but I did at one point have a Weatherby 30.06. Brush barrel.
It was like getting hit with a baseball in the shoulder.

I was hearing my step brother talk about that Barrett and what they use it for in Afghanistan guard posts...he said if there is a full sized flat bed truck over 100yds away and they want it to stop they can put one round through the hood and it stops dead in it's tracks.....100yds man that is freaking power......oh my Step Brother just got back from the middle East (again) Cpl Rubin Ruiz, Recon Marines.....
