they still make em....
I beleive the 4-10 and 20g are the same casing....I'd check that before I tried it though.....I have a 20g stainless semi, w/ vulcanized grips....if the Fit hits the Shan you better beleive that;s what I'm takin.....It's down to legal length and pistol grip....that is by far the most devastating home protection I could think of......I also have a Ruger and a sig marksman pistols they are awsome....I shoot smileys in the silhouettes at 30 ft...22s are probably the best shooting firearms made...I carry a 9mm though..I always tell te he-man .45 carriers that I'd rather hit my target rather than scare it w/ a big noise....

The 4-10 shell is smaller around and longer than a 20 guage shell wouldnt work :) I have both guns 4-10 and 20 anyway a 22 is awesome they are so accurate. I like to shoot my dads 7 mm rifle he has this insane scope on it and you can hit a target like 500 yrds away. He has that thing set perfect.

Yeah, the .410 is pretty damn small. Its basically the size of a .40 caliber gun, except its .410.

I never new there were so many gun people on this site.
I am some what of gun bug myself, Fired all types of shotguns hand guns,.50 rifles subs and some other I have no idea what they were.
One of the local sports stores here were I live has a rifle that looks some what like that.It looked like a M-1A but I didnt geta good look at it well it fired 30.06 rounds but some guy put a .308 in to it well it ended blowing the barrel apart and it split so far down that the wood stock split and broke his hand. He was very lucky cause the rifle was a semi.

Wow that is lucky My Dad in a hurry hunting deer almost did the same thing luckly he happen to catch it before he loaded it. We where using both a 30.06 and a .308 like I said my dad has a ton of guns. I really enjoy shooting no matter what type of gun and I must say I'm not to bad at it either :).I used to go hunting alot with my dad when I was younger but havent went in a very long time. I usally go out with him though when he goes to sight in his guns before the season starts and then we so who can hit the furthest target away, he usally wins that man is like a sniper lol. I only jave a couple guns never really thought of getting more. I'm really into Hotrods/classic cars/and 4 wheel drives thats kind of how I got into rc,s they are alot cheaper to build than 1:1 lol. But defiently not cheap! Its nice to learn of others intrest insnt it

RCs and guns, what a combo. Good to know we have some gun enthusiasts. I too enjoy shootng clays/trap and a little handgun action once in a while. Out here in in the bay area we have an awesome sporting clays field with 18 stations. Lots of hills and trees, just wish they would let me run my RC lol.

Well my personal collection consists of a nickel plated 9mm Taurus PT-92 with walnut grips and my home defense/sport gun is a 12 ga semi-auto Beretta AL391 Teknys with the all weather stock.

Shooting targets is a lot of fun.
I went to the our local police range with some friends who are sheriff deputys. And they heard me talk about RCs and they want me to go to the range with it. Lets just say they want it to hold the MOVING target

I'd let someone else drive my RC while I shot a target off it.....at least w/ a .22 or a 9mm...I love moving tagets......anyones range have a cross fire station...where the targets scroll across the range???? if no one is there they let me use it....nobody else does......I'm pretty accurate to 30 ft on moving targets w/ .22, 9mm, .380 & .40.....I want to go to one of those military training courses and see how well I do.....paintball is pretty good but the guns are just not nearly as accurate as real firearms until you spend like 600 bucks on a toy gun......every time I went to get one I always go and buy something else....just can't spend that much on a toy gun.....last time I bought my shotgun instead..

lol yeah its best to use slugs out of a 10 guage that really slows them critters down lmfao!

I usally stand at the drivers stand and wait for them to go by in front of me.

I agree. I enjoy shooting at R/C cars at the local track.

Man you always bust me up. At least once a day!

I don't even own a gun these days. :( Not even a pellet gun. Shootin targets, bottles cans, neighbor's dog - always alot of fun.

Shooting the neighbor's dog is just wrong! but the cats however are free game in my book.

Dude i thrive off shooting cat's,dog's arent as fun,but shooting cat's with paintball gun's are hillarious just make sure to soften up the paintball

i have played paintball for several years. played at the top level and traveled all over the world to do it. paintball will never be as acurate as a real firearm. no consistancy to it not even if you spend 600 bucks on it as earlier mentioned. paintballs are like waterballons. you can not get a consistent spin on a paintball( they have made rifled paintball barrels) and because of such you can not get a good pattern. if anybody wants a discuss this i will but this was about guns :)

try off hand sillouette shooting with a match grade ruger 10/22. awesome stuff. they do a job on the trigger for competitions where the trigger pull is less than a few ounces. fo' rizzle. if you touch the trigger to hard it goes off. i guess you could consider them unsafe but if you own one, I'm sure you know what your doing with it. it cost a pretty penny to get a smith to work your trigger like that. but the trigger is so soft for a reason cause you shooting offhan for f-sake. it hard but fun.

or you could try pin shooting. a table is set up about 25 meters away and 6 bowling pins are stood on top of it. you have to shoot the pins down completely off the table in the quickest time. LEAVE your 9 mills at home cause they may shoot fast(velocity) but they dont have the impact to knock the pin off the table in 1 shot. better bring the heavy hitters to this. a .45 is great, you could use a .40 if your a good shot. .357 is the way to go and usually he with that, wins. :)

anyways it nice to know other people like r/c's and firearms.

25 meters man if can see something coming at me from that far away I'm planning ambush w/ a shotgun.......LOL....that sounds pretty hard...when you say off hand you mean lefty if your righty? .....I shoot both when I go.....that's what made me get a righty / lefty set.....nothing like seeing 20 - 25 rounds shred the silhouette paper....hi cap clips baby.......and yes they are legal......9mm may not have the oomph at 25m but when are you ever gonna shoot at something that far away w/ a pistol.....

when i say off hand shooting i mean standing up with no rest and using a rifle. they have a class with sling and without.

the pin shooting is handgun only and 25 meters isnt that hard to hit. the problem is in the pin shoots your allowed only 7 rounds and with 6 pins you only get 1 miss, or 1 pin knock down but not knocked off the table. with a higher caliber round you have more impact down range and more of a chance of knocking the pins clean off the table in 1 hit. funny, you would think bowling pins would explode or something when you shoot them but that damn near catch the bullet and stay standing up. dont get me wrong a good .357 puts one hell of a hit in to a pin and splinters them all to crap but...its not what you would imagine.

yeah theres no way it would have just blown out oneside not the wholr thing like that

IMO the pic is real.

First, any rifle with a brake like that is big bore (.50 BMG McMillan, or some other .50 , or a wildcat like a 30-378, 7mm stw or the like). The cases look like .50 BMG. The brake looks like some hack job from the eastern front.

Second, scopes on those types of rifles are more than likely a 50mm objective (the end you see in the pic). Compare that to the rifling in the blown barrel. Still looks like a .50.

Third, there's no real forearm on the rifle, so the barrel is "free floated" and the bolt has a strait handle. My guess would be that it's a McMillan.

Lastly, the way the barrel is ripped in the pic is totally plausable. Most quality barrels on target and long range rifles are fluted. That's where metal is removed from the barrel along it's long axis. It reduces weight, and makes the thing stiffer. Look closely at the tears near the brake, you'll see the start of the flute cuts. Also, there are usually 5 flutes, sometimes 6 and rarely more than that or less than 5.

Dude probably overheated the barrel and fatigued it, it was a bad barrel to begin with or simply fiddlesticked up reloading a round. Alot of powder goes into a .50, and if you use the wrong flavor, it will produce bad results.

Anyone shoot the 220 swift? My longest kill on a g-hog was at ~450 yards with mine.
