I bit the bullet and got a Storm Pro this afternoon and am doing a step by step chronicle of the build out. Look Here

This is a new world for me. I'm sure i will have lots of questions so please help if you can.

Thanks
Ed

Another one bites the dust. :) Enjoy the buggy Eddy. Now its time to see some pics and videos of you doing the same crazy stuff as Christian. :)

Congrats! There seems to be a lot of peer pressure around here. Everyone seems to be getting a buggy.
I just finished a teardown and cleaning of my Storm.
I just added a set of Dynamite shock towers. I really like mine with the hyper 8-port. It is almost too fast. :D

As a note, be sure to use loctite EVERYWHERE!! I failed to do so and I have lost several scewrs and had some really loose.

I don't have a buggy so I can't offer any good advice, Eddy. How about some good-natured harassment along the way?

I imagine you were having a mental toss-up between this Storm and an Inferno?

I dont think it is pressure to buy a buggy as much as it is buggy owners loving their buggies and wanting to share.

I've always loved speed and you just can't get the kind of speed and handling from an MT that you can from a buggy.

It was pier pressure all the way! :p:

I think its more to do with personal growth in the hobby.
Starting out with Stadium trucks, I learned all I could then progressing to MTs I went through the stages in that field learning all I could to the point of feeling stale. I still get great pleasure in building, fixing, and racing them. The natural progression is to a buggy.

In building the Storm, I am finding an entire new set of skills and technology I will need to refine. Its amazing the similarities yet the vast differences between the classes. I have only started and feel I have a lot to learn.

A few of the issues I need to address are; where am I going to find more time and where in the hell am I going to put all this poop. All in all these are issues I am willing to deal with.

Those are some really nice picture Eddy. What kind of camera are you using?

I'm using the Sony 717. They are only snapshots. I'm not taking my time to light and set the exposers for each shot.

Today I have been my worse enemy. :\
RULE 1: Read the supplemental instructions first.
I spent the good part of 2 hours disassembling my buggy to reinstall an upgraded suspension brace and supporting parts.

Has anyone seen my frigging thread lock? It grew legs and took off damn-it. I'm going to go hang posters on the telephone poles and see if anyone found it.

You put it in that muffin tin you're using for small parts. It's under a rag.

Your close, It fell in the trash can

Help,
My steering is binding at the steering linkage plastic cups and balls. I have tried lubing them and popping the balls out and rotating them to different ends with no avail. I'm sure they will loosen after time but its nit right.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Take the balls, throw them in your dremel, get a cloth with some brasso on it, smooth that surface!

Should help!

is the linkage hitting the the brace? Or di you attach the ends to the steering kuckels on the bottom instead of on the top? Or am I wrong both times?

I made both those mistakes already and fixed them.:constipat

I think I need to get new ends. As I thought about it I used a screwdriver to install the ends in the turnbuckles and think I distorted them. Its definitely binding at the ball end inside the ball cups.

I buffed the balls (those to) earlier and lubed them up. Thanks for the tip Chris.

congrats on the buggy purchase eddy. i'm surprised you didn't go for the mbx5. are you going to toss an 8-port in there? the sirio would be a little overkill for bashing, no?
