Thinking about upgrading from 3pm

I currently have a Futaba 3PM, the radio has met my needs very nicely.

I"m looking to get more into buggy racing, so my question is should I consider getting a race specific radio? Perhaps one of the Spektrum models with telem.? I don't need 40 model memory, all i need is speed, HRS mode and perhaps a built in failsafe.

I've read many "which radio is best" threads, but I'm curious to know what you guys recomend.

Perhaps staying with the 3pm?

The Spektrum DX3s is a good radio with Telemetry and 10 model memories and will DSM2 which is faster than the original. I have one and love it.

I thought the DX3R was the only one with DSM2 tech.

I'd probably just get the DX2s, no need for 3 channels when I'd keep the 3pm for the baja and crawler.

looks like you have to decide, telem with DSM or no Telem with DSM2 tech.

I like the idea of the telem, honestly. Might sound a bit gimmicky but I could do away with a separate fail-safe
