I am thinking about getting an HPI that I see fairly cheap and I was wondering how good of a truck they were?

I assume that you are referring to the Savage21. The Savage is a great truck. They have been extremely popular (for good reason) since they came. They are very durable, with a decent motor and electronics. There are lots of guys here who run them, and they could answer any specific questions you might have about the truck.

Was about to get a T-Maxx but noticed all my buddies would break them every time they drove it. I have bashed my truck
just as hard as them and even hit their trucks a few times with mine. (oops) but aside from a few scratches and one lost chassis screw, have not had to replace anything but the obvious air filters and glow plugs. she is a lot of fun and as far as it goes, would not recomend another truck for the $$$$.

THe savage was designed for extreme bashing. They race pretty good too. Look over the posts to get an idea of what you need to do to get it bullet proof (ie. dogbones, fuel system, etc.)
