Thinking about crawling

You will melt a tamiya connector with the current draw from these crawlers.

not to call u out, but I'm still running tamiya's with an adapter to my lipo, with out a problem, I'm sure with the brushless its a different story, but with the brushed, its not a problem

Smaxxin and I melted his tamiya running a brushed crawler motor, that's what made realize that a crawler would melt one, and he was running a 6 cell nimh. You can always try it, but for 50 cents I would recommend going ahead and running a good connector like Dean's or Traxxas high current.

So about the connecters again. I can't just use any battery than? for example, i have a really old 7.2V battery for a radioshake truck from when i was really small, would that kind of plug work. Or do i have to buy the plugs for the ends, like one female plug and one male. Because i was thinking, for now i might just buy a regular stick pack to see how this whole crawling will go for me and then i would probably upgrade to the saddle packs and that stuff. Sorry if this isnt making sense, I'm still learning lol thanks

You can buy 10 pairs of connectors at a time for a few bucks. You just have to cut on wire off the battery connector, soler it to the deans, then cut the other wire off and solder it to the deans. The reason that I suggested buying the saddle packs, it because if you're going to buy a battery, you're going to spend more money on something that you'll have to replace. But, if you already have a battery then by all means use it. Just don't get discouraged when you're rig has a hard time crawling and keeps turning over. Once you move the battery, you wont have that problem.

Yeah i read a lot about how the battery placement is crap lol and i do understand i can have a hard time, but ill see, i have no money right now so i still have time to look around and see what other things i can get

Okay so now i have another question lol. I ripped my reciever out of my old nitro truck and now online i just saw a picture that had a battery thing in the ESC and my reciever has a battery plug in thing also, so how does that work. Does the Novak rooster have that too or is it just the one pic that i saw

And i counted up all the money and wow $450 bucks canadian, lol not too cheap, i might look for a cheaper motor esc combo, but i can afford this, but it might take awhile for my checks from work to come in lol

I've been looking at some other 55T lathe motors that are really cheap like 19 bucks but is there a really cheap motor and ESC combo that i can get on ebay/

You know that combo that I showed you on ebay that came with everything for $339? That's the best deal that you're going to find on a kit. It's got the dynamite tazer ESC and integy 55 turn motor. You're not going to to find a deal with everything included for that price. One of our members who contributes here in the crawler section is running that setup. I actually have a similar combo that came with a rig, but I removed it as soon as I could for a quality setup. The motor that comes in that combo is a good little brushed motor, and you can upgrade that ESC as money allows and allow the motor to reach its full potential down the road.

That's why I've been reccomending it, because I helped him a lot with setting it up, and it's proving to be a nice combo. He bought the combo, a 645 MG, and some saddle packs for it. I reccomend buying the combo and a towerpro MG995 (only $12) and you'll have a nice setup, once you get the saddle packs you'll have a capable crawler. They're only about $20, and there's a charger in the kit.

Yeah if they would ship to Canada i would buy it but they said in the shipping info that they will not accept any payments from other countries or something...too bad though cause i would of gotten that for sure but I'm goin to look some other place to see if they ship to canada

CKRC has a similar combo on ebay, and you could probably email them through their website about shipping to canada. They are a GREAT company, and I'm sure they'll work with you.
