damn jesse youve had to many close calls..

yea the old ones are tanks.. my buddy had an old ford truck, he lost control on a gravle road and went into the ditch backward (dunno how) at about 35mph, slamed into the bottom of the ditch and bounced back out.. didnt even put a dent in the truck.

but one of my other friend used to have an old international truck.. now THAT was a tank.. three speed trans and geared so low you couldnt get a speeding ticket on the highway..

nowadays you look at the car funny and it crumples.. lol

I've worked on saturns before, and there the biggest pos,I've seen those babys get munched by almost anything, and there covered in plastic,i hate working on plastic, sanding a car like that is a real hassle.

hey try it before you fry it, i drive a 91 saturn sc 5 speed...she's fast for what it is ...& its been my 2nd most reliable car after my old 72 honda civic cc ...damn i wish my dad hadnt sold that car

O yea don't get me wrong, this car is very reliable granted it is driven correctly. It seems like if I were to get in a bad accident, the only thing i can rely on to save my life is my seatbelt and airbags. The only parts of my car(on the exterior) that are not fiberglass/plastic is the hood, the roof of the car, and the top of the trunk. Everything else surrounding my car is that "dent resistant" crap. I'd rather have BREAK resistant than dent resistant.

I have driven one,it was a nice driving car, clutch was right, but not my type of car, definatlly wouldn't by one.

Saturns are very reliable cars, and are just as bad to work on as any other import. My old Gf had one, (Until she wrecked it) but I think she had 300,000 miles on it and never had any problems with it at all.
I worked at body shops from the age of 16 until I started doing graphics a few years ago, and the biggest lemons and deathtraps on the roads are Alero's. I worked in a collision center for Gm and I bet out of the hundreds of Aleros I've seen schmucked, 2 of them the airbags actually deploid. The front bumper could be sitting in the rear seat, and yet the aitbag still didnt go off. Plus I can't even count the numbers of blown motors and blown trannies I've seen with under 20k on them. I wouldnt pay $100 for one of them cars if I had to drive it. Id rather have a metro..lol

Glad I've got a 92 Achieva - very few problems with it, and it has a metal body. Probably one of the LAST decent oldsmobiles to be made.

Any olds/buick with the 3600 engine in it is gonna run good. I've never heard anything bad about that motor. Figures they stopped making them. I suppose it cut into there shop rates not having to be worked on.

Yes I have, the accident I was in that Jacked up my back My family and I where in a 80 Olds Cutlass. That car also saved my rear, if I had been in something newer and got rear ended at 60 mph I might not be here to be typing this

Those are sweet little cars! I had a 97 Achieve 2dr with the V6, that car would smoke the tires from a dead stop. One of the quickest cars I have ever owned and did good on gas to top it off :)
