Today, I was doing attempting to fix up a ladies Snow Blower. It wasn't starting at all so we started to take the thing apart. Now this snow blower is a piece, it is the smallest, crappiest, excuse for a snow blower I have ever seen, but it does the job.
Anyway we took off all the cover in wo we could get a look at the 3HP engine. The engine looked decent, so we pulled the spark plug and it was pretty black and oily so we tried to burn off the crap with a lighter and that wasn't working to well. Next we noticed a sign on the thing specifing a 50:1 gas oil mixture for fuel. We thought this lady could have esily messed that up so we drained the gas into a bucket and it was dark green, it almost looked like she just poured oil in the thing without any gas.
So we mixed up some fuel and put her in the tank and still no go. We tried to clean the plug somemore but still no luck. As we pulled the pullstarter, "Let's put something very explosive in the engine to help it start!" Now you guys might think this is pretty stupid, but it actually worked. We scrounged around the basement for something and there it was, a gallon of Nitro Fuel (20%). We put a little in the bottle, poured quite a bit into the engine by accident, we only wanted to put a little in but 'oh well', so we gave it a try. Second pull on the pullstarter, we backed away figureing in might explode, but something crazy happened, she started right up. Amazing.
My friend and I were so ammazed that we kind of forgot that it was spewing a whole bunch of exhaust in the garage. It set off every fire alarm in the entire house, but it was worth it, we got the friggin thing to run, now the problem was to stop it. We ended up cloging the air intake because for some reason the ignition system wasn't working right, oh well, that'll be for tomorrow
