hey guys,
I couldn't be happier to own a XXX N/T! BUT, I am having some problems keeping a diff gear in it. I am ordering the hardened RRP gear, the HG diff nut. What I am not understanding is the use of the diff spring by team associated. Am I to use that spring instead of the spring that comes with the losi diff screw or does it take the place of something else? Any help is greatly appreciated!! I went through 2 diff gears in a rather short time, followed tightening instructions per manual, any suggestions welcome!!!!

Well the BEST way to handle the diff is to just spot check it after each tank. It only takes a couple second. Hold the rear right wheel with your pointer finger pinning the spur gear in place and try to turn the rear left tire. If you can, then its too loose. If you can't, then you are good.

The AE diff spring replaces the stack of washers.

The HG diff nut is a big key to successfully being able to keep it tight for many of tanks. I have had GREAT luck with it.

I have a hardened gear but have not had to install it yet.

Just make sure you keep checking it to be tight.

In my xxx-nt it does not have washers it has a little spring in it and that was from the factory so I have always been confused on using the AE spring

I'm new at this, but what I have seen is that the RTR's come with the spring and the kit's come witj the washers? I broke my diff screw the first day I had my xxxnt. The new one came with a bunch of washers, but I just used the spring that was in the truck instead of all the washers.

Another point is that the spring will keep the screw somewhat tight even if the nut loosens. The washers on the otherhand will allow slop at the slightest bit of loosness. That's why I used the spring.
