The queston is, do you sacrifice yourself and or the camera for that one cool shot?

Hardcore camera action.....

This was at our track last Sunday.

I don't. Granted that shot is great but the danger behind it can be circumvented. Granted, not all point and shoot digital cameras have the features or abilities of the Digital SLR's but never risk your safety for the shot. Only take calculated risks ...

I use a 300mm lens on my Camera (Canon 20D) to take this pic from outside the barriers and about 30 feet away.

It was a bad spill and came to rest about 5 feet in front of me after a few barrel rolls.

man you guys should try video taping skateboarding......you think a fast plastic car hitting you hurts?

This one looks bad, but there was no way for me to get hit, and yes its a point and shoot cam.

The only complaint I have about the point and shoot cams is timing the shutter to coordinate itself with your finger. Makes every shot a "lets see what happens" shot. LOL. They also have trouble metering in a ast subject situation so slight bluring is a factor.

I still love the point and shoot cams. Makes it easier instead of carrying my crap around in a small camera bag when I do go out to take pics.

I agree, but you get used to the shutter speed. Most of my pics are pretty mubc in frame now.
