As most of you know I was the recipient of a new OS engine courtesy of WoodiE and RCNT. I decided to fit it into my Maxx. And, well, as you all know, projects beget projects. So, here's the beginning:

As you can see, it's pretty stock. Ported TRX .15 and all. No surprises.

Here's the result:

15After.webp

See how nicely that new OS .15 CV-RX fits in there? Ain't she purty? Seeing as it was getting some new muscle, I decided to do a few extra things to it. I installed the Traxxas FOC which removed half the tranny and reverse servo. I also Installed a new set of RPM bumpers which are quite sweet. There's a full set of black RPM skids on the bottom. And I also made these:

Hand made shock covers to tidy up all the corners.

So that's where she is now. Today will be tank #1 of the break in process. I can't wait to see what a difference this mill makes over the stock one. I've heard so much about it and I'm waiting to be amazed!

Thanks again WoodiE! You've made my summer!

The shock socks are made from basic black Lycra Spandex. Just sewn into a tube and pulled over the springs. I'd like to say my girlfriend sewed them, but I have to be honest and say I did it...:whistle:

Thats cool, I would have made them myself, but my girlfriend offered, so I got out of that one pretty easy:beer:

I just love the fact that a free engine from RCNT ended up costing me $60 in the end...

Just couldn't keep it to one project, could I?

Nice work there Candyman! Now get out there and beat the poop out of it! Oh the smell of carnage.......

3 tanks through it as of today. It's running like a dog. But I'm patient. I'll have it lean and mean by next weekend. I just can't wait until I get to really twist on it!

Congrats on the engine...That thing should be better then stock...Did you port your own .15 pro ? or did you get it done by someone ?

This thing BETTER run better than stock!!! I ported my own .15 Pro. It's not all that hard. It just takes a little time and patience. Go too fast and you're buying a new crankcase. But take your time and you can get it pretty easily.

Well, not sure yet. I took a little break because I ordered a new slide carb linkage and bell crank. I just got it in on Sunday. I'm on tank #5 due to poor weather. I haven't opened it up quite yet, but I'm close. I'll let you know when I do. Trust me...

Shock Covers

Would you be kind enough to reply with detailes on what to use for shock covers and method dimensions etc. I would like to try this project myself. Please reply to my email address;
