Is anyone out there watching "The Contender" on Sunday nights? Its got me hooked from the first episode. I'm a boxing nut..its in my blood. Just wanted to know if anyone out there besides me is tuning in to it?

Scenes for the next week looked good..I can hardly wait!!!! :boxing:

I've haven't missed an episode yet. That show is awesome! It was sad about the boxer that committed suicide on Febuary 14th.

Yeah it was sad...He had a family and all...he was so young. It was a rather stupid thing to do...a permanent solution for a temporarily problem.


I didnt realize that they were fighting for a million dollars untill early last week. I knew it was money..just didnt know how much. IMO this is the best reality show ever. These guys get booted by loosing a fight....then cry in front of millions of people. Its not about being in a "click" like other shows are....its the real deal.

I have seen every one. Its good to see inside the boxing world and the dedication these guys have. It does get slow at time but its a good show.

Whats sad is these guys think a million dollars is everything. There is nothing that says they will succeed after the show. One guy said I want to hand my mom the keys to a new house. This is great but after taxes, he will have only half a million and after getting a house in LA, he will have nothing left.

These guys have little to no education I'm interested to see what happens in a year or two to the winner.

In the meantime, Deadwood ROCKS.

Thats who I like too. But I also like the guy he beat right away and got to come back (I forgot his name) Hes ranked like 3rd in the world, doesn't seem to be the best fighter, but has heart.. I liek that.

I am also hooked on the show. I've been in boxing since I was 14, so it was good to see the sport get some recongnition. Good to see how commited to the sports these guys are and shows some of the traditions of Boxing there is.. Good to see!

I bring this thread back up because The Contender is in its Final Four hour. I'm still hooked. I can't miss this show. Wow, what a lucky shot by Jesse that took down "The Bullet." Anthony was crazed..then dazed. I predict Peter will win the MILLION bucks. The final fight is planned to be a live fight right???

Best reality show on tv i agree. When the guy one the truck in vegas that was his first car ever, i have always loved boxing and to watch these guys have everything riding on this, and their record is unbelievable, besides would you want your kid to see you lose.

Oscal del ahoya sucks, whatever happend to The Prince Naseem Hamed, and i belive that roy jones jr would win this if he was just getting his carrer off the ground and able ot be in this comp. I have to be honest with you though i still like mike tyson, the problem with him is he is too small and that is why he loses fights, when he fought holyfield his reach was almost 6 inches shorter than holyfields, and that is a huge factor in boxing.

I'm not sure what these guys are going to do after they loose or should I say, lost. If you put all their brains in one bucket I dont think they could pour them out if the directions were written on the bottom. Its sad to say but true.

I'm still hoping that Alfonso takes it. He seems to have poop together and and will be able to move forward and do something with the victory.

Ok I have been watching this show as I am a boxing fan.

I think that tonites match between Peter and Alfonso was the BEST I have seen in some time. It was a back and forth match. Peter got taken then Alfonso. I feel that these two were just throwing down at the end. Both hungry to win. I feel bad for Alfonso and what he and his family sacrificed but he will be seen again. A fighter that good can't disappear. He reminds me of Chavez. Damn good. Peter is just a great fighter and I am pretty sure he and his good friend Jesse will be in the finals.

Best match so far for the Contender!!!
