There ya go. I was worried about ya. When I first started printing I didn't realize how easily the layers can separate. I printed similar parts that always failed. So layering them usually solved it.

I've been trying to think where I saw this Injora chassis before. Then I opened aliexpress and looked in my cart. It reminds me of this one.

I appreciate it more than you know man. Yeah, they have a few different kits out there. My friend bought the TRX 4 version of what I bought, and it's crap. Always a crapshoot with this Chinese stuff. I doubt they do any rock crawling anyway.

I got some more done this weekend. Getting pretty close to done for the build portion.


I chose a body from JConcepts, the Forge, and got started on paint.

Got everything all masked off

Started laying paint

I really dig the body, but their paint masks are trash. I really thought the body was done at this point.

But a lot of time under a magnifying hood, some q tips, and rubbing alcohol saved it, mostly. I had tried cleaning it another way, and messed up the lines around the windshield, but, I have a plan for that.

From there, I moved on to installing my new link mounts for both strength, and better suspension geometry. I’m using link mounts from Hot Racing, and both ends required a bit of massaging to get them to fit over the standoffs on the axles.

This also allowed me to use the wild looking front upper links that came with the chassis. They fit perfectly.

Same treatment for the rear axle

The rear is so much better now, nice triangulation. I also changed up my shock mounting position at both the axle, and the chassis.

I didn’t really want to use body posts and put holes in my brand new body, so one of my friends gave me this idea. Some 1/16” thick 1” wide aluminum stock, and some industrial velcro and voila, body mounts. I also removed the sliders from the frame, as they didn’t really line up with the body lines, and in my experience, metal sliders don’t always slide very well anyway, they just tend to hang up.

Wheelbase didn’t come out exactly where I wanted it, but that’s OK, function over fashion.

The pinstripe trick fixed the paint issues with the windshield.

So, that’s about it. Just gotta re-install my electronics and go hit the rocks I suppose.

Looks good. I always worry about using velcro on a body because I've had it lift the paint before, could have been a weak paint job, but once burned...

Can't wait to hear how it does in the wild.

I need to clean up wiring, and I have an idea to work on this weekend, but she's moving under her own power now. Also, flipped my steering link to the other side.

I finally got some time to get back to this.

I fabbed up some extensions for my front frame brace, and turned it into sort of a bumper.

That allowed me to get the rear wheel arches centered, which was bugging me

I also had a shock binding issue on the rear passenger side. Took me a bit to figure it out, but my lower links had to be reversed. I think @MVRCA had mentioned this earlier in the thread, but the website pics showed them the way I had them. But it's fixed, so all is good now.

I also went and picked up a punch set, and vented my tires with three 2mm holes in each one. Thank god for two-piece wheels! I think the only thing left now is to clean up the wiring, and hit the rocks.
