I recently signed up on another forum, looking for more information on what I have, and offering advice to a couple people with unanswered questions. In the 3-4 days or so that I was there, I saw some people just rip guys who had simple questions. While it would have been easier to offer help, they chose to make the poster feel stupid. Last night I ripped into a guy for doing this.

So what I'm saying, is as long as I've been here, I've seen some great advice, you guys don't make people feel dumb, and you always offer whatever knowledge you can.

Thank you, this is what keeps me here.

What forum was that?

Props to you for letting someone have it. I get that on the 350z forum all the time. I've been wrenching on cars for over 20 years and those idiots treat me like a fool.

EVERYONE here, even an absolute guru, was once a newbie. We've been there, and now we'll get you the info WE learned. Some of it we learned the hard way, and some of it we learned right here.

We're here to help, not hinder. Thanks for the props. :first_place:

sounds like alien13 is our kind of guy. iam glad he is here with us. i got flamed real bad for "over posting" on an other site. but i dare not flame back. cause i want to stay on that site. its just that any thing helpfull i find will NOT get posted there. how ever now that i take a better look at what i posted, he does have a point i was over posting, and that will change now. i am going to do a LOT less posting.

Personally i feel this is the best forum to gain knowledge of the rc world. That is why i became a supporter. 3 years ago i bought a revo not knowing anything other than i really liked the idea of it. Now because of this site i now own 4 revos and 1 t-maxx and thanks to all the great advise from everyone on here they all run great. So thanks RCNT!!!:first_place:

I agree, when I came here I had plenty of experience, but not a ton of knowledge. Now I can figure out about 90% of my own rc problems, but I still learn new things every log-in. It's been a great resource for me and has made my hobby much more enjoyable. It's also nice to be able to help people out.

I think it's the sense of friendship that keeps us all together. Lots of laughs and everyone treats each other pretty darn well. Sure, a noob here and there gets a beating, but those are ALWAYS earned and deserved.

See now, what I was seeing on RCU wasn't even noob beating, it was just a hair short of calling somebody stupid. One of my worst pet peeves is people who run around thinking they are better than everybody else, and will stomp anybody to stay there. Everybody has to start somewhere, and no, not everybody understands how things work as well as another person.

Lol, I was about to paste the conversation here, but it seems the guy who started all the crap got all of his posts in the topic deleted. Funny thing is, my initial post where I ripped him a new one was NOT deleted. Though my others were, where I was arguing with him.

Basically, somebody was asking if he could use rubber cement instead of liquid mask, because he was having a hard time getting the masking tape to form the way he wanted it too.

The other guy came out and said if he can't handle putting masking tape on, that he probably shouldn't be painting in the first place. I think I put it too nicely though. That's where I stepped in.

Here is my post:
I hate to hijack, but this has been buggin me. I've been a member of this forum for all of maybe 3-4 days, and I've seen more downright rude posts here than any forums I've been on, RC or not. Forums are supposed to be a place to help people, not ridicule them. I'm new (again) to RC, and I try to help people based on what I know, and what I think is right. But too many people on this particular forum would rather shun a person, or use snide remarks, than help. It would be just as easy to offer assisting words, rather than to insult somebodies intelligence.

Again, thanks guys, it's forums like this that keep me coming back. And the more I stay here, the more I plan to become a supporting member. That and I want a cool sig and avatar pic :D

I love this forum,I'm on here everyday and all my questions have been answered properly and mega heplfull,i support this forum 100%

It's pretty cool they left your post on there, but it kinda makes you look nutty. There's the original question, then you calling out the people with negative comments directly after that. Good for you though, somebody's gotta do it.:D

I believe they left it there for the SOLE purpose of sending a message to the guy who ran his mouth. Maybe he'll think twice next time.
We're pretty casual around here but everyone knows where the limit is.
We help, we get help, we have fun and we derail, but that's what keeps us all coming back.

RCNT Rocks!!!
...
Speaking of being casual, I don't have any pants on.

I would have to also say this is the best forum that I have ever been on. It seems like I'm on here all day but that is how I learn read and read some more. take care and thankyou

I will add though that Rolex is the best RC Cleanup wizard I have ever seen. He is the Shelf Queen King! ;-) He knows a few tidbits of info too...just don't get TOO complex with him...I mean he cleans more then he drives right?

I love raggin on our buddy Rolex ;-)

Our pal Rolex polishes his rigs so much that he's worn through the second set of aluminum bling on his Savage. j/k

I like to think of the people on this board as an extended family. I've always gotten good answers when I've had a question.
