Build Showcase Tekno RC ET410 (KID)

Simply put, the most fun I have had in a 1/10 scale 4wd RC platform.

Thanks for the kind words @CertifiedMike, and @ferrebee88.
That’s killer! That’s a kit? Well done and the paint job is banging. Looks like my favorite college football helmet! Looks like it rips too!
Thanks. I was a diehard Team Associated fanboy, and when Tekno came out with the ET410, I waited for Associated to jump onboard the mini truggy train. Well, a year went by and nothing from "Area 51" design team... I ordered me an ET410 kit. The best thing that ever happened to me.

I tell you what, it's SO great to have the ET410 up and running again. I had put off a repair, because of other projects. Messing with Hobao's mini then switching to the ET410... a feeling of joy/relief/comfort set in.

A couple of battery packs later, and I don't know how I managed to go to LVC...

Droop Screws

After seven years, the wear isn't too bad on the chassis droop tabs.

I'm going with HoBao droop screws to replace the stock Tekno "things" (set screws) 😁
I doubt there will be a huge improvement initially.

Maintenance

My annual clean/refresh winter maintenance is in full swing. In from the garage... this is how she sat after the last run of the season two months ago.

Pulling all the bearings out for inspection and changing the fluids/oils as needed.

Let's have a look inside that motor.

I'm always impressed at how well the motor keeps the dirt out. Darn near spotless inside.

A drop of oil on each bearing and we're good to go for another year. I'm switchin' to 9imod's heatsink 4mm bullets... better grip justification... long overdue.

Well, the front clip is all taken care of.

After replacing the center driveshafts pins, it's time to beautify the center diff~rear clip.

Do I replace the spur gear or not? Meh. I've ran worse 😁;)

Well, there's something I didn't notice before...

That rod end must have taken a shot... not returning back to normal shape.

I've prepared for this day.

Diff Ring and Pinion Gears

Diff gears still looking good after all these years. I've had bad luck with a few rides in the past. It's the reason why I'm so adamant about making sure the diff coupler's set screw is cleaned/secured with great threadlocker.

Bearings

🤫Anti cleaning/relubing police should look the other way. :nailbiting::playful:

Finishing Up

Rear CV joint pins have seen better days. It's time...

Added the second chassis brace again. I've pushed my luck too long running just the one brace. I am honestly not convinced that I can tell a difference in bump handling forgiveness since I run my shocks softer than what the box stock setup would have me run.

Shock o-ring is perfect size to replace the old dried out thing (above) on the thumb screw.

For me, this is as good as it gets. Everything is up to snuff for next season.
