my personal opinion is that a Tatoo should mean something to you. You are going to have it on your body for the rest of your life. Yes its nice to show off a bit and a well placed well done tatoo is awesome. I just say to be sure its something you will want your kids to see. Or that you will still want/enjoy when your 60.

I myself am planning on getting a mural done either on my back or chest. I still want full sleeves but it may mess up the idea of the mural. Buddy of mine just finished his arms, chest, sides, and back. Took 3 years to finish. From the waste up its almost a full suit except for his stomach. Earth and Fire themes on one arm. Water, and wind on the other (4 elements). Back is covered by a huge dragon. He has his wife on one of his sides, kids on the other. I think he said its a little over $10,000 invested in INK.

I agree with Robriguez. Don't get it just for the sake of having it. A tattoo should be meaningful. I have 2 and got them way before they were the in thing. Nothing tribal. Here's a link to them ... My Tattoo's BTW, this topic was covered in another topic. If you do a search on it, it should come up at this link ... Tattoo

The one on my arm was my first, done in 1994. The second one on my back was done in 1996 since SCUBA diving is another hobby.

I've often thought about getting my name tat'd on the back of my head, and my government name tat'd on my ass. That way it be easier to ident my dead ass when the time comes.

I have 3. My intials on my chest on my heart because I'm the 5th generation to have my initials, a Skull on my inner right forearm, and a angel on my left. I'm planning on doing a heaven and hell theme sleves on my arms. Also I go in in a few days to get "Tulla" on my left back of the bicept going up and down and "Tear 4 Tear" across my shoulderblades.

Me personally would go with the barbed wire across the arm. No armbands. Nothing that has to do with fads. But its up to you. Try to be creative, because I've never seen anyone with my tattoos and Id really hate to, itd bug me, but thats just me I guess.

I think of my tattoos as a rememberance of my youth. People will ask, do you want to be a old man with them tattoos?? I think Id look at it like as a daily reminder of my good ol' days of when I was young. What else do old people talk about besides the good ole days??? Anyway, just some thoughts.

Nothing worse than walking down the street with a tattoo picked off a wall, only to see someone on the street with the same tattoo. Just think of how women feel when they see another woman with the same outfit on that they're wearing at that moment in time.

This is what I want betwen my shoulder blades on my back. I do not want the circle around it. Just the upside star and I love the way the line threads itself over and under other lines. No color just dark black line. I May go with it on one side of my chest instead of my back.

Zandor, my dad has a tatto of our old boxer on his shoulder blase, I'll get a picture whent hey come back fro california, untill them I'm home alone for a weeke, lol.

well be carefull, they are very addictive

I onyl ever wanted one. After my first it only took me about a week before I went back and expanded it. Then another month and I got another one. Since I only ever wanted ONE i didint think past that and now 7 years later I STILL havent come up with another one that I want. But I'm dying to get more.

i have 2, have someone draw out something original, dont get a tat off the wall at the local tat shop it really sucks to bump into someone with the same thing and make sure its something long term not a fad, things that will have meaning for ever daughters name, sons name, family name, japanese have family crests a design that represents a family so becareful what you pick you may regret it in the years to follow...aloha
