Ok so today I was messing around at my school and my woodshop teachers friend rolls up. We get to talking and he mentions how hes got a savage in the bead of his truck and hates it. I'm like what the hell. So anyway I go out and look at it and am staring at the tank. I was all whys it so dark howed you do that. He said that he used die that you boil water and drop in the die, then he just dunked his tank in it. Any one ever done this. ITs totally sweet looking. What kinda die do you need to die things too?

I almost want to say the die screwed up the tank.

Why?

They O-ring probably got hosed. And the the pick up inside the tank got warped or gummed up.

First I have ever heard someone dying their tank. Replace the tank.

Thats what I was thinking but it apparently worked. I'm going to find out for shure tomarrow. It just looked so cool to have a smoke gray tank.

Don't really notice it when its covered with dirt....

Ya but I'm really picky about my tank and even after driving on asphalt I blow it off with the compresser. I just love a clean truck. I take care of all my stuff like that though. Truck is always clean, and my dirtbikes haha i armerall the tires and everything black just to keep it shiny and spray the plastic with pledge to make it shine.

I want to say someone here did dye their revo tank. Made it kind of red, but you could still see the fuel level through it. It looked kind of cool... but those of you who know me, know I really don't care about looks!

Ya. Red eh,,, that would be interisting to see. I just slaped on my trinity, tomarrow I'm goin to a motorcross track with these guys and hes bringing his savage. So tomarrow I'm goin to put the big question to work, what truck is faster and more durable. I feel my revo is pretty stout but well see. I'm goin to take a bunch of pics. I'm just bummed that I dont have my new dirt bike and my old one, well i just dont want to ride on the track so tomarow I'm just going to stare at the dirtbikes lol. I plan on racing the little guys though lol.

I have dyed a Revo tank, I dyed just the outside for a nice light blue look and it turned out really nice. You just have to watch it and check to make sure it doesn't get to dark.

I would post a pic but when you slide into a mailbox post and the fuel tank takes the brunt of the force it just doesn't stay together.

I'm going to try this. I'm trying to acheive a all blue with pink acents threw out anyway so this would be a nice touch. Ill let you guys know how it works out.

blue and pink??:gulp: i dont think i have ever seen a rig with that color scheem

I'm picky too. I clean my rigs after every run.... well almost every run. Anyway.. I think what Jon meant was that when the lid is on and you are running it.. the truck is covered in dirt so the color of the tank would not matter. After it is all cleaned up though.... that's a different story.
