I am having trouble with this thing running. I set the carb to the stock settings, and it just is a pain to keep running. I have had a couple times i had it going for a while. SO i am deciding just to replace the motor. It is a .18 now, how big of a motor could i shove in it? Is the .18 a small block or big block? I just want to start it up and have fun with it. I have replaced glow plugs etc.

The .18 is a small block. I wouldnt go throwing a new engine at it enless you know the compression is gone and or theres no pinch left. If you give us a little more detail of whats happening we could tell you more. And not to be mean but a nitro is never just start and run :hehe:

I'm guessing nitro motors don't like the cold?? It's been 25-30 here I think that could be the problem. I went with a hotter glow plug, for the winter time.

You are correct. If fact they hate the cold. Best bet is to wait until warmer weather.....at least 50s and give it another go. If your not the greatest at tuning the cold it gonna make it that much worse. Speaking from experience first time I had mine in the cold I overheated. First time in 60s had no problems and it ran great. I had a similar thought when mine wouldn't run in the cold. Then realized that was my problem :hehe:

Bummer... Maybe ill just have a tuned motor for the winter and swap it out with a new motor tuned for the summer.. I am fed up with this crappy nicad heaters. Just ordered a panel and a batter with the glowplug heater with the banana clips on it. I want to play in the snow so ill have to mess around after i get the new heater setup.

I run winter and summer engines. Winter engines I don't care about. I cover 50% of the cooling head with a piece of rubber innertube and zipties. Helps keep the heat in, but doesn't hold water/snow like a sock. Then I tune until it runs'ish and run it.

Any time it's below 50F, it's time for my winter engines. I won't run my good engines in ambient less than 50F.
