And we know who that group is

The only Tamiya I see worth buying in my eyes is a TRF racing kit but I don't have 1200 bucks sitting in my pocket let alone 50 bucks soooo I'll leave it at that lol. (Me personally I'm not into the vintage Tamiya kits)
For OP:
If you have a local club or track that races TT01 euro truck or tt02 spec / stock classes, sure go right ahead but if not I see 0 reason to get it while you can get a much better kyosho Fazer or Traxxas 4tec for hooning around in the street or parking lot.
Had a TT02 myself which is a updated version of the 01 right? Was excited to get into some on road racing but when building it and my first drive I realized it was the worst "hobby grade" they say, car I drove. Uncontrollable, tried all the things I had to make it drive straight. Not to mention my local onroad track only really does a tt02 class for the TCS yearly race so it didn't meant much to me. Wouldn't be able to keep up with the fast local guys running high end kits.
Heard rumors that the TT01 might be better out of the box than a TT02

. IMHO, if I get a car it should drive straight out of the box. I built it all per the manual. Not to mention Tamiya hop ups are unnecessarily too expensive.
That's just for driving or racing. If you want to build a nice looking shelf or display car, I totally support it as the TT series has lots of aftermarket support and you won't be wrenching on it alot. Almost made mine into a shelf car but someone wanted it which that extra 20 bucks I got back i spent on a new front pair of race buggy tires

.
That's just my opinion on the TT series which always turns into a rant but you can use it for your own research. I still support the guys that like and live Tamiya and racing them. I always still watch videos on them racing and I'm like, how in the world did they get those things to drive straight and consistent when using the stock steering rack system and no upgrades lol.
