Hi all, new member here. I've got my mind set on converting a Lancia TA02-S to nitro to fit the 236mm wheelbase of the Lancia 037 kit. I find it hard to source the old Thunder Tiger gas conversion kit for the TA02 so I would be helpful for hints and tips as to how to proceed. Has anyone done this specific conversion? I guess I'd have to design an upper and lower chassis plate from scratch

It is not going to be easy, it will be hard to mesh the clutch bell and spur gear exactly right. The plastic tub could melt under the heat. It is probably a lot cheaper to get a TG-10 type chassis and go from there.

Thanks Alfred, much appreciated. Thats indeed why I looked for the old Thunder Tiger kit which includes aluminium chassis plates, which are of course for a 257mm wheelbase (see the image below) but could be useful as a template for a shortened custom chassis.
