RC Driving Style
My cousins moved back to there home town after being here for like 19 years. Anyway when we were moving them out we found there old Nissan Kig Cab that they had. I remember when they were driving it when I was younger. So I asked what they were going to do with it, and now I got it.
I have to take some pics and I will post up when I get to it. My 1st electric, hope I can get her going again.

Let us know how it comes around. Once thing Tamaya has going for it is the realistic quality of their scale vehicles.

hey!! thats awsome.. that was my second rc when i was a kid.. i keep tryin to remember what i did with it.. i remember i tried racing it, but it just wasn't the same as my losi's.. id love to see pics.. bring'in back the old school vintage

That's great. A lot of us here got started in RCs with Tamiyas, so it's always good to see an oldie rise from the ashes and run again. Definitely post the pics.

Sorry it took me so long to get them up. Here they are.

As the weather is finally starting to get nice where I am, I will be working on rc's again. Havent messed with any since November I think. Sorry I havent been around guys. Yall know if you remember that I'm old school, and have no new stuff. All old school rc's.

Well it looks like that thing spent way more time on the lid than upright. The chassis appears to be in excellent condition (although pics are often deceiving)

Since you're into vintage you probably already know this, but one of the magazines I get does an article every month where the build a vintage kit from scratch. The articles are great. I think it's XRC but I'll check to be sure.

Sweet, thats good to know. Yea my cousins said they spend more time crashing into each other then driving them. Frame is in good shape. Lid has seen better days, its also really dusty, was sittin in there basement for 10+ years, well see what I can do with the lid.

Just an update. I had some time today so I sat down and looked it over. Everything seemed ok, so I charged up the battery and what do you know I'm driving it around the garage. It sounds like a gear is slipping in the trans or if there is a slipper clutch on electrics then that might be the problem. Ill take it apart tomorrow and see what I find. can't believe that it works.

Haha, that's great, my buddy had one of those, and I had those very same shocks on my mudblaster. Haven't seen one of those in a while, thanks also for the memories.

Man glad to hear it started right up. People can say what they want about tamiya, but logevity is not something that they can put down.

I can't believe that old mechanical speed control is working God I hated those things used alot of emery cloth cleaning the contacts back in those days but then I got a Novak T4 esc any one remember those it was the best thing scince sliced bread LOL cool old truck man I have owned a few tamayas in my day and they were not to bad good luck getting it all dialed in...

I remember the T4. That was one of my first ESC's. I also had the old Futaba ESC that came out just before that, and the Airtronics ESC. I've used just about all of the old skool esc's out there.
