Hello everyone, I’m planning to start a project, but there isn’t much concrete information about similar builds. To avoid shooting in the dark when buying parts, I first want to hear real advice from experienced builders.

The idea is to assemble a 6x2 Scania 770 with a liftable rear axle, based on Tamiya (cab and chassis), but using fully metal axles with air suspension, metal rims, and Michelin tires. Using the Tamiya Scania S770 6x4 as a base, since they don’t make a 6x2 version.

The setup would be:
– First axle: non-driven steering axle
– Second axle: driven
– Third axle: non-driven lift axle without a differential

All axles must be on air suspension.

I want to understand which components from which manufacturers are fully compatible with each other. The reliable brands I’m considering are Lesu and ScaleClub. But I haven’t found any build online that matches exactly what I want to create, and I really don’t want to end up buying parts that turn out to be incompatible, forcing me to drill or modify something and ending up with a crooked model.

I’m asking the experts to help me sort this out.
I’ve built Vanquish crawlers before, but I’ve never worked with Tamiya until now.

Since the Carson trailer comes bare with no lighting, I’m trying to figure out which lighting kit to buy for it and how to connect everything. I’ve seen a Chinese option that uses an IR transmitter for control, but the receiver itself looks bulky, and in that case I would need to install a battery inside the trailer.

My original idea was to buy a trailer lighting kit with a magnetic connector between the trailer and the tractor unit, but unfortunately I haven’t found any kits like that for sale. Could you please advise which kit I should get if I want to build a realistic lighting setup with all the side lights, just like on a real trailer?
