hey, i was wondering what would be better to get. I do a lot of backyard bashing, and i want a truck that will handle really good and that will beat or be really good competition for my buddies savage 25 and my other friends monster GT. Which one do you think would be better to get, the T-Maxx 2.5 or the Ofna LX GT Pro w/.26?

from experience, stay away from the t-maxx. Reason why is most every part on it is plastic, the engine mount sucks. Long story short, you'll spend alot of money getting it even close to as strong as your bud's savage.

Besides, the 2.5 engine doesn't last long.

I'd go w/ the buggy, they're pretty fast in grass as well, and handle real well. T-maxxes suck, and if you get it, don't let your friend hit you doin 20+ while your upside down....lol, I hit my friend's maxx w/ my savage like that, broke his damn maxx in HALF!

so is the ofna buggy a good quality buggy and will beat the savages on the track?
thanks

the lx buggy will beat the savages all the way, go with the buggy...

ok because I'm getting one right now
thanks

P.S. so this buggy will beat all the monster trucks?

your comparing apples and oranges man.....if you want to be competitive w/ your friend get a savage...if you just want to haul ass around him and piss him off get the buggy....the savage would be my vote since you have friends you can race w/ already....racing an MT and a buggy , especially on a track, is unfair.......MTs will allow you to go over more terrain and are better for bashing IMO

I think i might still get the buggy cause every truck i've had, i've gotten killed by my buddies savage or my other buddies monster GT. Also i want some sick handling and i will probably only go to the track (1) or (2) times a year

if your only going to go to the track twice, then go for a savage, i had one and i never broke anything on it either and i drove that thing like a bitoch, trust me you will not regret it

what MTs have you owned?
what is your budget?
have you considered a truggy?
What models does your local shop support?
or are you dealing w/ internet shops only?
many variables to consider before just saying this or that......
I race 1/8 scale adn I just don't enjoy running it anywhere but the track personally...it's a specific type of vehicle....it's bred for racing.....it just seems like it wouldn't do as well on a lot of terrain......are you running in any tall grass? buggies don't like that too much.......packed dirt and low grass they kill anything on wheels.....just trying to make a point is all....not being a peepee

what MTs were you getting killed w/......and could they have been out of tune?...w/ any nitro vehicle you get you NEED to know how to tune it...if not you will be screwed no matter what you get

Everything beats a Salvage on the track!!

but.......

Nothing beats a Salvage at a Bash site!!

Savages aint made to be raced. Thats like bring gravedigger to daytona, and expecting it to win. Just stupid. Savage is the best bashing truck you can buy HANDS DOWN. And if your only going to the track 1 or 2 times a year but yet still bash in the yard, Id go with Savage too. I love mine and will NEVER part with it. Things are tough as nails and everytime I take it out, it always seems to impress me.

I don't understand how they made it so tough but I've seen guys buy em go straight to the track and just pound on em right out of the box...get it covered in mud....throw it in the back of their pickups when they get pissed cause they don't know how to tune...NO ARO no airhosing it off just leave mud and clay crap all over it..don't see these guys for a month...they show up w/ a crusty savage cause they left it in the garage from the last time out ......I get it started and help em get it tuned so it's real fat and won't die on em from running WOT all over everything......and they try "tuning" it themselves again adn get pissed...throw it in the back of the truck again......I've seen this cycle 4 times now since January......and that friggin truck is still going......and now they come w/ stories of bashing on a construction site....man if that thing went through half of what they said, I give props to HPI for building the tank of all tanks.....I still think they handle like bricks on wheels though... :D

if you are doing a lot of bashing go with a savage or a truck of some sort. you will like it a lot better in the more harsh terrain. buggies are great for going fast, holding up really really well and beating the hell out of. but you put big mud globs in front of it the turcks will do fine but the buggies wont.

i'm saying this and my fav car is my 1/8'th buggy too :)

usually, i drive my truck on tar or low grass. or sometimes in some hard dirt so i dont need much groung clearance.

P.S. the other trucks i have had are a duratrax nitro quake, and a kyosho mad force(which dont handle the greatest)

get a LSP.....best of both worlds and you WILL kill your buddies savages....IMO you would be happier in thelong run w/ a truggy or MT.....but that's just one man's OPEN-YON
