dose any one know of a good gas tank for my maxx.
I am thinking of using a s25 tanks but it fites very tight in the truck

just seal the split up w/ JBweld or some plastic safe epoxy...smooth it out w/ an ice cube if your hung up on looks......redo the lid seal and yur gud 2 goe!.....what's the issue w/ it

I use the Ofna tank in my maxx (or used it in my maxx... need to get the diff issues straingtend out.. shut up guys i know). New Era sells a mount and tank for like $17 or so... I like it. No more probs with having to run it rich early in the warm up till it hits half tank or so... i hated that about the stock tank...

I used the OFNA tank on my t-maxx when I had it. You have to move some crap around, but I never broke another tank after installing it.

This is the tank I used:http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBM24&P=7

Nice. I have broken 2 tanks from rolling and hitting the side of the tank on something. I had a kage, but it made me so heavy. nyways, that setup looks like its it wont hit on stuff so easy.

when I was jumping and I landed on my bumper and the tank craked. It Cracked where the Screws screw in to the tank, snaped right of. and I just jumped 5 feet and landed on the bumper.

this is my 3 tank cracked
s25 tanks dose not fit.

DON'T!!!! The aluminum tanks suck. After a short while, the threads for the cap grind at each other and puts aluminum filings in the tank. Also, it's a real biotch to deal with when it's cold out. And it has a real tendency to rattle loose all the time. No matter how much thread lock I put on mine, it wouldn't stay put. Then eventually, it getting loose and vibrating wore at the threads and almost ruined the tank.

Try the OFNA tank. It takes some effort, but your tank problems will go away. So will the leaning/richening issues when the tank is full to lean.

BTW, I had the slimline tank.

another advisory against aluminum tank here.......THEY SUCK......Olds speaks truth on those things....

Get a GS shock rebuild kit and put some of those o-rings between your tank and the chassis.

When I drove my maxx, I did that and didn't break any more tanks.

my freind has two maxxs. and i have had a couple myself. and never had a problem with the tanks.

I kept driving the rear shock tower into the back of the tank on bad landings. It would normally punch a hole in the side of the tank. Also, with a full tank and hard bashing, the legs would snap off the bottom and make huge holes in the tanks.

I went through 15 tanks before I ended up doing the OFNA tank conversion... That was about one tank a month for a year.

I didn't keep my stock tank long enough to see how fragile it was ( i did the ofna tank conversion soon after i bought the maxx), but my friend has snapped about 6 tanks various places... I guess it is all in how you drive, but from what i have seen, the stock tanks SUCK! And on top of that, the tuning issues the stock tank gives you makes it a 2-time looser... lol

A different tank makes it easier to tune? Hook me up. How is this possible? I have trouble tuning my maxx, I'm fairly new, and I havent' run it in a while. While we're talking about fuel tanks, how long does fuel last if you leave it in the container you bought it in, sealed?

Thanxx

Fuel lasts for awhile before becoming stale. I normally take a month to burn up a gallon, but if stored properly, it can last 6 months to a year, if not longer.

The tanks we used on our maxx was pretty much the same shape top to bottom. The stock tank is narrow at the top and fat at the bottom. This makes the air pressure from the exhaust into the tank change pretty dramatically as the tank empties. Which means, it gets leaner as the tank empties.

Olds, Not saying your wrong but isn't it do to the same thing the Revo does with the O ring sealing it as far as th etuning goes???
Personally I've never had serious issues w/ the stock tank breaking...the tuning issue is a minor PITA for me as I just bash the T-maxx......
