t-maxx engine running hot

I have a trx 2.5r in my t-maxx and it likes to run 300-310 on a 70 degree day what can I do to make it run cooler I've got a roll cage on it and I've reset the needles and tried to tune but it didn't work, I've heard on hear to lean it but I figured it would run hotter PLEASE HELP, Thanks.

You're right the leaner the engine the hotter it's going to run. Something is not right if you're running 300, no matter how hot it is outside. Try setting your needles back to the factory settings, it will be on the rich side but it's a good place to start.
Do you see a trail of smoke at 1/2 to full throttle? If not you are too lean. You could have an air leak also which can cause it to run hot, does the engine act funny.......like it's out of tune, but when you adjust the needles it doesn't change anything? That can be an indication of a possible air leak. Continuing to run it at the temp will shorten the life for sure.

are you using traxxas on bored temp gadge if so make sure the wire isent buy the exhaust the pipe is 300degrees

No I am not but I was wondering what kind to get there is many kinds out there what would you recomend I want an onboard one.

A lot of guys will keep adjusting the HSN when the engines run hot. The LSN can bring up the temps where the HSN can do nothing about it. Set the LSN to where you get a good punch from a dead stop after the engine is warm. If it wants to explode off the line as soon as it starts, it's too lean.
Once you get that right, the WOT will be adjusted with the HSN, and probably need a little tweaking regularly for outside temps and humidity.

also check for air leaks, good place to start is the fuel tank submerge tank in water with hoses connected and blow in the engine line if you see bubble you got a bad seal. might need new o-ring around filler cap.
