OK my buddy has a T maxx with the 25R, anyways he also has a pipe and his takes off a lot faster and has more top end. My truck the Savage 25 is all stock no after market Tuned pipe, i also tuned it and it seems to have some top end speed, not as fast as the T maxx, not as fast as it should be couldnt get the thing to stop stalling at WOT at first.

Now my truck doesn't stall but seems now that it has top end it has no bottom end power. My truck accelerates slowly but not like bogging. I would richen the LSN and it would bog, i would lean it out and it would take off slow still, It seems super touchy, it was also 32F outside and both are heads are wrapped.

So pretty much if my friends T maxx is running ok why is my truck not? you think the tunned pipe could be that big a difference? Or were T-maxx's faster then Savages both being 25's? thanks.

Since it's cold out the T-Maxx has a smaller engine and it stays warm easier. The Savage having a big engine takes alot more to get warmed up and stay warmed up. The Savage is also a heavier truck.
Another thing to take into account is gearing.

And by the way the T-Maxx isn't a 25, its a 2.5 where as the 25 in your Savage is a 4.1.

really? it feels very slow! i only wrapped the head with like double layered tin foil, no sock, but that what he did. I didnt know it was that big. my truck slows down @ WOT going over like 1 inch of snow and or a lil jump. feels like it has no power compared to his.

My truck can't wheelie at all! I'll try wrapping it better. Now if i get a pipe for it, i should get the ones that come with the header too right? Anyone know of a top tuned pipe for my truck, and whats a stinger is that something special? sorry i try to read alot but I'm still a noobie! :) thanks.

A stinger is the exhaust output hole on your pipe.

Your Savage shouldn't feel that slow. Something is wrong I think besides the cold weather. Sounds like tuning? Might be that your engine isnt warming up. Can you put your hand on the cooling head after running it? is it warm or hott?

it seems to get hot. I feel heat and i would say it should be warmed up but i dont have a temp gun, I'm trying to get my friend to buy one because i bought all the other stuff glow plug igniter tools, and ARO and shock OIL. It deffinitly gets hot enough. all thought i never touched it when warmed up because i figure it to be hot. Any reccommendations on a pipe?

I did a search and read that the ribbed tune pipe is too loud? My truck stock seems super loud will it sound the same or louder? I want to have alot of low end power because i go through snow and other stuff.

Is there a tune for more low end torque? thanks.

Not really. Thats more gearing or pipe/header combo.
If your looking for torque look into the Ofna JP-1. Great low end pipe but it kills topend.
The JP-3 is a great all around pipe.

BTW is neighbors are complaining don't worry about it. As long as its a reasonable time and you stay off there property they can't do anything but complain. Even when they call the cops they won't do anything.
I've actually had the cops called on me twice. Once they found out I was on my land and not breaking any laws they started asking me about it and etc. I've actually raced a Coast Guard on his ATV at the beach LOL.

Actually i fixed it, i guess it was the tune, but my buddy keeps breaking his Plastic axle dog bone things, he has a 2.5R engine i guess in a 2.5 T-maxx, he bough it off ebay. ;) I think I'm keeping up or faster now, but i just chewed my spur gear. Damn engine boltz came lose, i didnt touch them since i bought the thing.

Well most likely they were loose when you got them. Some people take brand new trucks apart and put them back together just to make sure things like that don't happen. If I were you I would get an extra spur gear just in case something else happens since they are fairly cheap.

Yea today I was thinking that if I put something on my savvy project backwards or something I'm gonna have hell getting it back off cuz I use loctite on everything. Only way I could do better is if I put JB Weld instead of loctite, but that would just be a nightmare. lol don't ask me how I know this!

UPDATE: My Savage 25 now has a tunned pipe. And i got it to run pretty good, the best i have seen it run ever...........
but my buddy's T-Maxx was fast as hell yesterday, and he just pulled it out from when he put it away last year, he didnt even tune it. His Truck you have to basically feather the throttle, i dont know if T-Maxx tires suck in the snow or what but it seems to be so much faster if he can find grip. I would guess in a drag race i would be able to win because mine is more controllable. When i go WOT it goes, it spins a little bit it doesn't start drifting around.

I dont know if its because i dont have a Locker like him... but his motor screams. I'm guessing his motor is perfect and mine is shot, or his tires are so bad they dont do anything for snow.
