Does anyone have any feedback or personal experience with the super-charger theyre selling for Savage motors? Any increase in speed and performance? Any downside or damage risk to using one? I ask cuz I'm strongly considering getting a Savage XL 5.9...and Id like to make it as big and as fast as possible. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've seen nothing but negative feedback for any type of supercharger for any nitro engine. From what I've read you can only do damage with them. Also this has been a thread war starting topic in the past so good luck actually getting the feedback you want to see. I personally wouldnt stick one on my engine unless i was expecting to replace it anyways.

DO NOT buy a supercharger, period. As zdragon stated, they do nothing, with the exception of making tuning a PITA. Buy extra fuel, plugs, and RPM parts as you break things instead.

Well...that kinda sucks. Thanks for your opinion...I will keep i in mind. That just ruined my plans tho...oh well.

If your "plans" involved spending $150-$200 for a supercharger, I'd say you're much better off spending $200-$250 on a better and/or bigger engine....Just sayin'.

Wooo! Another stupid charger thread!! They are worthless in every sense of the word. Do ONE search on 'supercharger' and see what you get here. Nobody likes them and always warn people about them before they blow their nitro engine up or get banned from RCNT for verbal fist fighting...

Stay away and get more power from the powerplant itself.

Lol actually we just saved you ALOT of headache :D

I will guarantee that one of my pipes will provide a substantial performance gain for less money. It will also help the engine run better, cooler and tune more easily on a consistent basis. The supercharger will not offer you any of that, it will be hard to tune, temps will be inconsistent and it will likely ruin the engine in short time.

Do you have a website I can check out for your pipes?

From the looks of it...I have been schooled in the nitro world when it comes to super-chargers. I'm new to the nitro world...which is why I was asking ppl who are more familiar with it. So I guess I will do an engine upgrade instead. Any opinions on which to upgrade to? One that has sick power and isnt a pain to keep tuned?

If youd like to see first hand why they arent worth a crap you can check out this 2 part video:

^^And that is about as legit proof as it gets..

Yup.

Maybe now folk will forget about the 'hype effect' superchargers and turbo chargers have.....Its a marketing ploy and ( no offense guys ) these tactics work very well in America.

Edit: Its that Bigger, Better, Faster thing.......

Just watched the videos. All I can say is DAMN!!! So all they really are is engine cookers. No thanks. Looks like Ill be going with the LRP .32.

I have actually tried one. Actually my brother in law, myself, and 3 other freinds were given 3 to try by Black Hawk hobbies in Met La.

1st the thing is chaeply made. Lots of metal slag in the inside etc. 2nd, it doesn't work. There are no parameters adjusted for the engine. Its the equiv ent to strapping a leaf blower on the hood of your 1:1 car and calling it supercharged.

i tried one in a 3.3. spent 4 weeks. its HARD it put in, poorly made. i couldnt get it to run right. i think it could be made to to do something, but it wasn't. spend time learning to tune, youll do more good.
