I just got home from being issued a stupid citation. My insurance card is 3 days expired and the f-ing cop wrote me a ticket for it.

Man, I haven't even gotton my new cards in yet. My insurance company's covering this one ;)

I feel so :bowned: ! Now I have to take time out of my day to take care of this crap.

The whole reason he pulled me over is, "You were driving suspiciously". Think about it, I see him behind me, so I drive 5mph slower than the speed limit! WTF?!

hey i'm hearing you....there isn't a person in the world who dosen't get nervous when a cop pulls up behind them, you right away look at your speedo, your hands go ten and two,and you slow down a little..

yea, but that's driving suspiciously. " If I'm not doing anything wrong, then what do I have to worry about" (says with sarcasm)

I have been driving for tons of years...... funny thing... i have never gotten a ticket or pulled over in all those years. If a cop pulls behind me i usually drive a bit over the speed limit or flip my signal on to let them pass.....

sLY

If cops following me, I just follow the speed limit and drive like usual. The only time a cop stop me was when I bought my car. I was going to night school with a temp plate on. The cop stop me and asking me tons of questions. The stupid dealer put the wrong temp plate on. That plate supposed to be on a van and not on my jeep. Cop were suspecting me hijacked the car. I was lucky because I got all the invoice and paperwork with me. For that, I am 30 min late for the class.

bustedgears, have you renew your insurance before the cop stop you? If you do, you should not gotten the ticket. My insurance company usually mail me a new insurance card 2 months before my current expire.

i hate it when people slam on there brakes at the first sight of a cop.. when they werent speeding in the first place.. or drive 10 miles under just cause a cop is on the interstate with us.. WTF drive normal and he wont hurt you lol I've gotten a ticket for following to close because the dumb ass in front of me slames on his brakes when he saw the cop which made me be to close when the cop saw me.. if they do get n behind me ill slow down TO the speed limit and set the cruze so i know I'm not speeding.. then just drive it strait untill they pull off.. if its on a two lane move over and let them buy.. the cops around here always speed anyway..

and my jeep... I've gotten stopped befor (some stupid reason.. ) and forgot to put the new insurance card in my car.. got a ticket.. but all you have to do is go up to the courthouse or wherever you pay your tickets and show them proof of insurance and they will drop it.. its just inconvenience to have to go do it

The only problem is, school starts in a week. I just hope the cop doesn't sit on it for too long.

Beason, Remember my last ticket? the cop turned it in one day before the court date.

AMEN to that!

On a main drag here in NYC, the speed limit is 35 mph.
In the morning, there always seems to be a NYPD pace car (a cop doing the speed limit).
I pass his ass every time I see him. Not just to pass him, just because I have to get to work.
I do 40ish.
Never pulled me over.

I am usualy good for passing cops around here at about 5-8 over the limit and never had a problem.

yeah, some people, if yer a cop.

Well...... I got the ticket dismissed. 5 Minutes after I leave the court house, THE PRICK PULLS ME OVER AGAIN!

He walked up just to check my Insurance card. What the hell is up with this guy?!

If he was present when you were in court, he knows your story and the truth. I'm sure part of the reason the judge dismissed the ticket is that you had proof of insurance. Him pulling you over was not coincidence. I would file a complaint with the police commission or dept based upon your rights were violated. If the cop heard you testify that you had insurance and the judge agreed you had proper proof, his pulling you over was without probable cause. They are required to investigate all complaints even if they feel it is not warranted. Even if the cop is found not to have done anything wrong, the fact a complaint was made is in his file. Plus, if he hassles you more in the future, you will have an established record of issues with this cop from the past. An attorney would then be more likely to take your case if you have to go that far.

You sure you don't live in the same podunk as me, bro? All the cops around here are Roscoe P. Coltrains...

LOL I passed a cop on the way to work today at about 10 over, he was doin 5 over and I was just moving with traffic, but if I do get pulled over, its not like I didn't see him, or going to speedlimit.

thats total BS that he pulled you over again, but my favorite is when people go to their court date for insurance and the judge asks them how they got there and they say "I drove" I mean WTF, then they send a depuity out and pull the dumbass aver just for being stupid and give them another ticket

It just pisses me off. The cop wasn't there, mind you that the first ticket was three days ago. I took care of it today. No fine or anything. I have a couple of cop buddies that are gonna give him a talking to. Fuckin' rookie.
