ok first i have a pro 15 with great pinh and compression, when started it idles high and very rich (lot of smoke) so when i lean out the HSN it dies not getting any fuel.. so thought maybe an air leak so last night i torn down the entire engine and RTV it. carb, back plate and header and just a small amount around cooling headjust to be sure.
Put it all back together and same thing still runs very rich, idles hig and wont take off just dies when try to run, again lean it out and wont hit..... any ideas....
the lsn is flush and hsn is about 3 turns out

make sure your piston is not installed backwards,,, the notch in the piston goes towards the carb. It is very easy to install backwards, this will prevent you from idling and cause you headaches.
I like to adjust my lsn on the stand, this is how i set my idle. what is your gap set at?
