i have the HC titanium skids on my maxx using the stock plastic bulkheads (with RPM bulk braces... good investment). haven't replaced the bulks in quite awhile. however, i've noticed that now i'm starting to strip screws out of the bulkhead holes that the skids are screwed into.

since the stock plastic skids obviously flexed a little more than the titaniums i have now, plus they had that metal spacer in between them and the bottom of the bulks, i'm wondering if anyone is experiencing the same problems or maybe found a solution. i'm assuming that since the Ti skids aren't flexing at all anymore, the screws are basically getting ripped out of the bottom of the bulks.

i'd like to avoid putting metal/Al/Ti bulkheads on... trying to keep a soft failure point on the truck in the event of a "bad one".

suggestions? thanks.

I think you answered your own question... The stock bulks have become your weak "break point". I'm running the Traxxas Al. bulks with Hardcore Ti. skids & braces. Never stripped out or broke a screw yet... Lost a few... lol You can try putting a dab of CA glue on the screws before threading them into the plastic bulks, but I dont think that will solve anything...

one of the first thing i did with my t-maxx is get rid of the stock bulkheads. i replaced them with Integy bulkheads. works great, havent stripped any of the holes and they are pretty cheap. i run with R/C raven skids and Integy bulkheads, RPM a-arms, RPM shock towers, R/C Raven racing chassis, it all works great together. i still have to get some titanium hinge pins though.

Invest in a tap/thread kit. Hobbico makes a good set that will be just the handle and the size bit you need. Thread them first before you put the screws in. This is if you decide to continue to run stock. Once I started threading my plastic parts life was good again. ESPECIALLY the bulks.

I'd go with the Aluminum Bulks, a good bumper and RPM shock towers/arms. Make everything that sticks out your give point. It's a lot easier to replace these things than it is to replace the bulkheads.
