Hey, I'm kinda new to rc cars and was out running my savage today and i stripped the big gear on the back of my transmission... can sombody tell me what that gear is calles so i can order a new 1! Thanks!

make sure you look up a video on how to set your gear mesh after you get the replacement spur gear put on. That may be why it stripped in the first place.

Also, look at the gear. It should have a number on it for the amount of teeth. More teeth means slower, more torque. Less teeth means faster (if your engine can push it), less torque.

Ok thanks i thot i had the gear mesh set properly but i think that mite have been the prob..

There's a paper method that you jam a strip of paper between the gears, then move the engine until it can't move anymore, then tighten it down and spin the spur to roll the paper out of the gears.

I just adjust mine by feel by holding the CB stationary and rocking the spur back and forth until there's just a "tick" of play.

OK ill try that next time sure appreciate the info
