Time to think about street tires for my Mutilator, gotta find some cool 17mm rims too, any ideas?

Also, the guy from Losi says 1/8 scale buggy tires would be too taxing on the trans, (Speed-NT) what do you guys think?

HPI Phaltline mounted on either Tremor, or Blast wheels. Both the Tremor and Blast wheels are 17mm hex.

Here is the tremor's...

I run 1/8 buggy street and other tires on my jato without an issue. I also really like running these OFNA "stadium truck" tires that they used to make for a couple of the old school truggy's back in the day.

These are those ofna tires on the rear with 1/8 buggy street tires on the front:

Comparison shot of tires:

Top left to right:
17mm buggy rims with pro-line 1/8 moabs
17mm buggy rims with Pro-line 1/8 road rage (street tires)
standard 2.2 ST rims with pro-line road rage

Bottom:
standard 2.2 ST rims with losi step pins
standard 2.2 ST rims with losi blades
17mm buggy rims with pro-line 1/8 moabs

On the truck:

front Proline badland 1/8 buggy
rear traxxas stampede 2.8" rims and talon tires.

Out of all of those, the stupid stampede ones suck. Absolutely no traction anywhere, warm or cold, especially when cold. Thought they would help on the snow... but all they do is spin. The rest are good for their purpose.

I haven't had any trans problems with the jato. The taller tires change your gear ratio, so less torque and more top end. I like them for more ground clearance. I geared down a tooth or two as well since I run in smaller area's, flat out top speed is of little importance.

Just picked up a set of four Phaltlines on eBay, slightly used (look good in the pic) for $45 w/ free shipping. Even if they're a little worn, they sell for $49 for a set of two brand new. And these will fit my new Savage too!

Thanks for the info Olds. Unfortunately, the only wheels I can find that fit a Losi stadium truck are Losi wheels. Means until I can locate 17mm adapters for it, I'm stuck.
