storing using WD40

hi,
i needed to store my nitro for 4 to 8 weeks so this pm i, following some eople's advice, sprayed WD40 over the engine and metallic parts - but i think i kind of oversparay as i pretty much spray everywhere - i accidentally reached the servos and receiver boxes.

Is that bad ?

WD40 is non conducting (I think) and will actually protect your servos and electronics. It kind of waterproofs a little bit too.

I don't think it's bad. Anyways, make sure you raise your car on a box so the wheels don't touch the ground.

BTW I heard WD-40 is bad for your engine, I don't know if it's correct but...

i did not really spray inside the engine - like inside the carb , for this i put few drops of after run oil.
the wd40 reached the heat soolant tower outside and inside and i guess the top of the piston too.

i heard from others thtat wd40 is not bad even for the inside of the engine and actually better than after run oil because after a long storage WD40 is less sticky and after run oil is harder to "burn"...?
any thoughts on that ?

i have heard that wd40 is very good at protecting the inside of nitro motors. i use it to clean my nitro motors, but I use Marvel Mystery oil as an after-run lubricant. wd 40 doesn't harm electronics. i have used it in many applications from removing moisture from distributor caps on automobiles to a cutting oil. the wd of wd40 actually means water displacer if I remember the trivia correctly.

Traxxas actually recommends using WD-40 in their mills.

It's not good if you have a filled crank, it will cause the seal on the crank to come loose depending on what was used. Since most engine guys won't tell you what they use you never know and should be safe and not use it.

the wd of wd40 actually means water displacer if I remember the trivia correctly.

It stands for Water Displacment perfected on the 40th try, (40th formula)
