i just recently came across a pair of tires that sink my aftershock even lower to the ground than it already was. i do race this truck, so it does see some pretty big air over some of the jumps. right now my truck sits more like a truggy (2" or less). i want your opinion on weather i stiffen the shocks to save on the undercarage, or leave it low for the stabiblity in the corners.

I would look around for a race setup for your truck before going out and buying stiffer springs. You might just have to put in shock spacers to fix the problem.

my shocks have an adjustable spring collar, so I'm not looking at getting any new parts.

When you adjust your spring collar you are not stiffining the springs, you are just adjusting the pre load on the shocks. They make different rate springs, some which are stiffer and some which are softer.

Yellow=7.0
Black=6.0
Silver/stock=5.0
White=4.0

I usually use either white all around with 25 or 30wt oil, or silver with 30 or 25wt oil.

Sway bars i run one thin in the rear. 7K in the front diff and 3K in the rear.

Arms just about level. I don't worry to much about the bottom of the truck. Whatever makes it handle the best.

Another good tuning option is I have my battery strapped to the front tower. It gives the truck uncanny steering if you tap the brakes before cornering.

Oh and the new 15degree caster blocks also help with on power steering.

You also need to understand that now that you have smaller tires, you have given up your top RPM. You might want to consider changing your gear ratio.

I think if you have an FOC, you can swap the trans inner gears and it's comparable to adding a couple teeth on the bell. I did it with my AS since I run standard maxx sized rubber and wheels. It runs about neck and neck with my friends stock LST2. Actually, mines quicker off the line than his. That was before I got the LRP28... now I'm just going to feel bad watching him try and keep up.

Anyway, if it handles well, don't go stiffer. You will be more prone to rolling over and it won't get as good of grip.

Another friend of mine put yellows on his muggy and the thing just skips around like my revo did when I was running P3's. Granted, he could take 8 feet of air and not bottom out, but man, that thing was super squirrelly on the track. Even in the straights it was a chore to keep it in line.

ok, so go with the gear change up and leave the shocks alone if its handling fine? (wich it is) sounds easy enough. now i have to decide if i want to put the swaybars back in or not.
