ok a grandma could flip a bitch faster in her powered wheelchair faster than my rav lol

I don't know what the prob is, can't be the servo its a jr high torque
not the bat I'm sure of it

radio is a futaba 2PL its brand new just got it 2 days ago
the steering dual rates D/R setting is at 100%, if i could go higher my problem would be solved. I'm confused i can still drive it but i need more space to turn than normal

any ideas?

i've heard that tightening the servo saver can help turning radius, but you might want to wait for someone else to reply to double check on that. i don't want to kill your servo

I am assuming you have checked and made sure there is no binding. I believe the DR is just a the speed the servo moves, Try adjusting your EPA it controls how far the servo moves. Sounds like your radio isn't using the full range of motion the servo has.

You want full manual instructions or just a quick version as I have the manual for my T2PL right in front of me.

Also, you WILL need to adjust the EPA, right upto 120% if needed.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The D/R trim on the hand grip actually limits the servo throw, NOT the EPA and not servo speed. The active D/R is between 30% and 100% :p:

To quote the manual in regards to dual rate, the manual states:

"Use this function to adjust the steering travel of your model. If the model understeers (push) while cornering, add steering by pressing the upper side of the D/R button. When the model oversteers (loose), take away steering by pressing the lower side of the D/R button"

SETTING THE RADIO HANDSET TO YOUR MODEL BY USING THE MANUAL

SETTING THE EPA FOR CH1 (STEERING)

The manual States:

"Use this function to limit the servo movement for the left or right. The servo travel to each side can be independantly adjusted. This feature will compensate for any difference in right or left turning angles or radius due to the characteristics of your model."

TO REACH THE EPA SETTINGS SCREEN:

Press the "Function" button FOUR (4) Times, until the EPA setting screen for CH 1 is visible.

ADJUSTING YOUR EPA

Once at the EPA setting screen, Turn the steering wheel either LEFT or RIGHT. The initial setting for both LEFT and RIGHT should be 100%. To adjust this, use the "DT1" trim knob on the top of the steering wheel housing to adjust trhe EPA to your own requirements.

ON THIS POINT THE MANUAL STATES:

"Adjust the travel of the servo while operating the steering wheel each way"

SETTING THE EPA FOR CH2 (THROTTLE / BRAKE)

TO REACH THE EPA SETTINGS SCREEN:

Press the "Function" button FIVE (5) Times, until the EPA setting screen for CH 2 is visible.

ADJUSTING YOUR EPA

Once at the EPA setting screen, Either pull the throttle trigger backwards or fowards. The initial setting for both the THROTTLE and BRAKE should be 100%. To adjust this, use the "DT1" trim knob on the top of the steering wheel housing to adjust the EPA to your own requirements.

ON THIS POINT THE MANUAL STATES:

"Adjust the travel of the servo while operating the throttle trigger each way"

EPA Range is 0 - 120% For Both Channels

SETTING THE ABS FOR CH2 (THROTTLE / BRAKE)

TO REACH THE ABS SETTINGS SCREEN:

Press the "Function" button SIX (6) Times, until the ABS setting screen for CH 2 is visible.

ADJUSTING YOUR ABS SETTING

Once at the ABS setting screen, Push the throttle trigger fowards. The initial setting for the ABS should be OFF. To adjust this, use the "DT1" trim knob on the top of the steering wheel housing to adjust the EPA to your own requirements.

ABS OPTIONS (In Order)

OFF: Inhibited
FST: Active (Fast)
MID: Active (Middle)
SLW: Active (Slow)

i will try the epa setting and see what happens

also n00b question what is a servo saver? what does it look like? pics would help i may have one and not know it

yea i know i should know this stuff by now but you never stop learning

DAMN Cobra, a thank you would have been nice and it's only polite after all !!

That's not the reason i wrote what i did, but c'mon, i could have written nothing.

oh come now, i told you i was coming back :)

and yes thanks
but it doesn't seem like putting epa to 120% did anything

jesus cobra thunder is rite!!! a thanks or somthing would of been nice! thats some helpful info and would of took him a holy moly long time!!!

i aint no spaz mate i just know how to say thanks for someones efforts to help me!

I still can't figure out whats wrong, when i get home tomorrow i will take some pics and post them, having other problems now too

nitros are like women if you dont treat them nice they wont turn on and you wont get to play with them :hehe:

the day I find a woman who is as finicky as my nitro, I'm in trouble...

try unhooking the servo from the steering linkage and see how far the horn turns compared to how far it turns while attached to the linkage. If it turns the same amount its a servo/radio issue. if it turns noticeably more, then its a binding or servo saver issue.

ok i will go check that right now, i shall return shortly

ok the servo turns the same amount (checked it 5 times to make sure):)

i dont think it would be my radio i dont know why it would be the servo its basically brand new JRSPORT ST126MG high torque it was recommended by the guy at my lhs the kid knew his poop he had my brand new rav dialed in just a few mins so i trust his judgement on the servo and the radio is brand new see my prev posts

the only I, i say I because i know squat LOL would be the servo horn/saver? they both look the same to me when i looked up pics

i have a round one that is 1nch across i have other ones
i will have to wait till i get home later to post pics which will be more helpful than a no0bs spew :hehe::hehe::hehe:

set your EPA on the radio to its max setting and see what happens. If youve already done that then I'm at a loss.

ok you said with the servo saver off it turns the same amount! go to your lhs and ask for a new servo saver! i was having the same problem with my tmaxx and i bought a ofna servo saver which was a little bigger than the stock but i put it on adjusted the linkage and all my steering problems are gone!

i will try that i have a bunch of of savers diff sizes, if not i will post pics, i should be heading home in a few hours

thanks for the help
